I worked at M+W Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Challenging work environments, Great Salary, Great benefits, Paid time off, Great team building atmosphere through corporate initiatives like " The Collaborative Way". Very strong "Injury Free Workplace" Culture. Can transfer and move up through different business units.

    Cons

Potential travel/relocation based on active projects, Being such a large company with multiple business units communication sometimes gets missed or is slow between entities.

    Advice to Management

Keep promoting and driving the TCW culture, It really works!

I worked at M+W Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

There are no positive things to say

    Cons

Where do I start? - No communication from Management on critical items like bonuses (none for last 2 years); merit increases (no communication at all, only select few got merits); what's going on in the company. -All the good people (A players are gone). -They constantly promote the wrong people, if you get demoted from a project you become a Director, if your department is disbanded and you are potentially out... of a job you become a Director, if you are buddies with VPs you become a Director; if you cry because you want to move from east coast to west coast you become a Director - Recent voluntary departures of PM/DM who saved critical project in Rocky Mtn NW and was respected by Construction and Design; BD Lead who won many proposal efforts; Lead BD/Director for DataCenters all got fed up and moved on. -Software and hardware applications are pathetic. -No more A players left who Top 100 clients respected. -Do not promote the resources who made them money and executed projects successfully. -Current design organization is pathetic. -NO work life balance - The BIG project has still not materialized

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at M+W Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good and dedicated co-workers. Good benefits and pay. Large company backing means the paychecks will not bounce.

    Cons

Chaos in Energy segment management for the last 2 years doesn't seem to be abating. Poor group cohesion. Management cares about the overall bottom line much more than the people. My manager didn't have my back.

    Advice to Management

Look to your people: They are the most valuable resource you have. They will be the only differentiator between M+W and everyone else. When people are killing themselves to get the job done, get help for them and recognize them personally.

I worked at M+W Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Had many professionals capable to move office and company to the future and beyond. Able to work remotely too if needed. Direct deposit and free beverages.

    Cons

Bosses never travel to remote office. When RFPs were written the client required portions would be removed from proposals with the excuse we don't do it that way. We of course would not win those projects. Thus offices closed... when our offices were close our management blamed the clients.

    Advice to Management

Read RFPs propose what is in the RFP then you can win. This may require a change in middle management.
