      Horrible company to work for

      Pros

if you are lucky enough to get a full time position the benefits are ok still super expensive co-pay and 401K they also give you two weeks paid vacation a year ..... good luck because they even make management positions 28 hours so they don't have to give you benefits

      Cons

I worked for this company for many years was robbed from all my holidays, birthdays, special occasions only to be laid off 3 different times this company does not care about its employees and makes sure you know that no one is irreplaceable ... you have unrealistic goals and written up every time you don't make your goal and also written up every time you are late. This is a very poor company to work for would not wish it on my worst enemy. Most positions are part time (usually 12-20 hours) and usually just work you on Friday-Sunday

40 hour a week pay, but you WORK HARD and often more hours off the clock

      Pros

-Good benefits -Play with makeup & make people feel beautiful -Some good products -Great charity/ community causes

      Cons

-"Mean girl" mentality with upper management- have to brown nose to get promoted (Many of the operational leaders are uneducated and got promoted because they brown nose) -Leadership always demand more from you and your team (unrealistic expectations), but don't provide the tools for you to achieve what they ask of you. -High stress & poor family quality of life -Supposed to get 1 weekend off a month, but it doesn't always happen -They do not appreciate you when you go the extra mile, but are quick to call you out for minor mistakes. -Know your policies and procedures because if you do something that violates them (even if you don't know it) you will get fired! -If you don't complete all the work they demand of you (because you often get told to complete things last minute) you have to do it off of the clock because you CANNOT go into overtime or else you will get into trouble.

      Pros

Best retail makeup store to work at in my opinion. Distinguished and freedom to express yourself and your creativity, in fact encourages it!

      Cons

Sales heavy-but that goes without saying because it’s retail so it’s expected.

      Cons

No work life balance, lots of work for one person.

The company is a skeleton of what it once was

      Pros

Used to be fun when you got to work with a team and there was a possibility for promotion Good discounts Lots of trips for educational trainings

      Cons

Everything. There is nothing good left as of 2021. Everyone is quitting due to changes, and that is what they want so they can hire in new employees for less money All retail employees took pay cuts, up to 30% Company is failing Sales goals are unrealistic No work life balance Upper managements tactic to motivate retail employees is by fear and shame No more gratis Whole teams have been cut, only a retail manager at each location and a part timer if youre lucky No budget for anything, I bought tape due to the fact that we were out and was told I will not be paid out for it Retail managers do not make the schedule anymore, FESMs do. Schedules do not make sense and are not made around the needs of the business. You are then in trouble for not hitting sales goals, even though you were not there for peak hour You are expected to be a social media influencer, however the company does not contribute to phone bill. Promotions are held over employees head Product is now boring and hard to sell. No good collections. Just people replenishing. You will work 8 hour shifts by yourself almost daily. I only saw my part timer for about 4 hours a week but was still held accountable to train her fully. Company thinks online classes will work, no attendance rates. No one cares about this during a pandemic. Favorites are always chosen by FESMs and trainers and it is made very obvious No grace period for attendance. If you are scheduled at 10 and clock in at 10:01 you are documented as late. Awful hours Never a weekend off No freelance hours In trouble if AUS IPT and clientele score is not $50/3.0/15%

      Lots of Education

Apr 12, 2021 - Retail Manager in Fort Wayne, IN
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Education and team building is main focus, gray customer service training

      Cons

At a full time level this has to be your life focus. If you’re not giving enough, you’ll hear about it until you do give 110%. Not much work life balance in reality, even if corporate says they support you in finding it.
