I have been working at MAQ Software full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - they have multiple branch locations
    - they talk big and sell hard
    - family ran
    - you can work on 10 projects at a time

    Cons

    - be ready to work really long hours and on random projects
    - project variety is horrific and quality is low
    - management focuses on making revenue and profit - not on getting any good work done. they just want to get away with what minimum they can do to get their invoices approved or new ones signed.
    - sales surprise us all the time with features teams cannot deliver, they just worry of winning, and not delivering. quality and people suffer
    - the management play good cop/ bad cop tactic with people (honestly, mostly for being bad cops to us all, to get away with us doing hard work, and little care)
    - the C level people are rather not friendly, they do try to put a fake smile, but there is so much of disrespect for lower titles like developers or support
    - Low morale, low esteem despite long hours, lack of joy

    Advice to Management

work on better ethics, morality and character. It will flow into your company too. Making your people work like dogs and treat them like pigs would not go too far - once your "main" account dries out, there wouldnt be too many things to look forward to.

I have been working at MAQ Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

One of the best company for the fresher. Learning curve is almost exponential. Good career opportunity

    Cons

Since individual learning is at most important with work. Work Life balance is very less.

    Pros

    Easy to get in to
Lots of learning (as you will be expected to work exhorbitant amounts)

    Cons

Need to be in the office early, but you also have to be on the phone late with offshore team
The second it makes them more money, they will throw your career under the bus in favor of their own interests
"Excellence" is expected, meaning you will probably never hear a compliment or get a "job well done" but you will certainly hear about it quick enough when you mess up.
Management doesn't care about what you want for your own career path, they just railroad you into whatever will make them the best profit.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees more often, instead of thinking you know what's best. Sometimes, what is best for the employee and the company might be different things, and you should bring this to light and try to work with employees, not just railroad them into things that they hate until they finally quit. There is a reason your turnover is so high - you don't even bother to ask your employees about nearly anything, even regarding their own career path!

    Pros

Majority of the projects are from Microsoft. So you get to work on the same tools and technologies used at Microsoft. Good for freshers out of college.

    Cons

High work pressure environment. Employees are expected to work 15-16 hours a day and dedicate their life upon joining this company. Zero work-life balance. No respect for employees. No company culture. High attrition as most employees get frustrated and leave. My advice to new hires is think twice, no think thrice before taking up an offer with them.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with dignity and respect, both the ones who work there and those who leave for better opportunities. Also please stop writing self reviews on this site. They will not help your reputation.

"Right place for young people with desire to learn and take on roles not typically available at early stages of career"

    Pros

MAQ Software provides great opportunities for young engineers to get exposure as project leads within first couple years of their career. Typically, such opportunities are provided only to people with over 5 years of experience at other organizations. This is invaluable opportunity for recent graduates and people with one or two years of experience.
Company management provides right framework and rigor that allows / forces software engineers to follow process and learn value of planning and following a consistent methodology.

    Cons

Currently company focusses only on Microsoft business and technologies. This is not the place for people who want a job that does not require hard-work (50hrs or more per week) and for people who need lot of hand-holding, guidance and training.

    Advice to Management

Hire one or two business development managers (not program managers who also can do biz dev). Improve reinforcement / recognition of top performers. People need it especially during early phases of career so that they know that they are on the right track.
