I have been working at MARCH, Inc. of Manchester full-time

    Pros

When you walk through the doors of MARCH, Inc. you feel at home. You feel welcomed and a part of the team. MARCH, Inc. employees are hard working, caring individuals. MARCH offers competitive pay and a great benefit package with over 6 weeks of PTO your first year of employment.

    Cons

MARCH, Inc. relies on volunteers and grants to improve upon things such as technology.

    Advice to Management

It is a pleasure to see that management and administration share in the commitment and dedication to the individuals MARCH, Inc. supports. Management and Administration truly appreciate all employees.

I worked at MARCH, Inc. of Manchester full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people served and staff are the only reason to stick around.

    Cons

I was a Support Manager for one of the group homes and my life became nonexistent. The agency uses client funds to pay for office supplies, they let parents be on the board creating a huge conflict of interest and a major power struggle , upper management doesn't care about the safety of staff when it comes to being trained to handle declining residents... All in all this agency is bad for business. You'll be fine for the most part if you're a direct staff (unless they bully you into believing that you can be mandated which is not part of the union contract by the way) but if you're a Support Manager then good luck having peace and happiness in your every day life. Possibly the worst job I have ever held.

    Advice to Management

Have a backbone and stand up for your employees. Also, stop the gossip and picking favorites.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at MARCH, Inc. of Manchester full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

MARCH Inc. is a great company to earn experience and certifications quickly and they support a great group of individuals.

    Cons

Compensation is very low even within the industry. Work life balance is nearly impossible to maintain. The administration has a problem with gossip that creates a toxic environment to work in.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, the ones who actually do the hands on work. MARCH Inc. needs to focus on running the company as a successful business that supports our great individuals. Not just as a club for a select few who refuse to listen to anyone else.

I have been working at MARCH, Inc. of Manchester full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

union based, good hours, laid back staff. Client to RI staff is good.

    Cons

union based, so raises are based on contract not on one's own abilities, so you get the same raise as some other schlub who looks at their phone all day. Raises are EVERY 3 YEARS or so. and like a .25.

    Advice to Management

promote people who do well. give raises based on that. Pay attention to call outs and lazy people. reward those who do extra.

I worked at MARCH, Inc. of Manchester full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You don't have to punch out for lunch; most of the Group Home Managers are knowledgeable and enjoy their job.

    Cons

As with any non-profit the salary is low;closed shop so all employees have to join Union 1199; way too much favoritism and gossip which not only is tolerated by upper Management, they are the major participants.

    Advice to Management

Treat all employees the same, some people get away with anything and morale is very low because of it.
