I worked at MAXIMUS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work is easy. It's just customer service over the phone. The pay is okay for the area.

    Cons

The turnover rate. It used to be not so bad but in the past year or so it has gotten worse. They will let you go for just about anything.

I worked at MAXIMUS full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Easy job, reasonable starting pay, Monday-Friday work week, decent health insurance

    Cons

High turnover, lack of communication in all departments when providing basic work practices, lack of employment training regardless of how many years you have been there, constant change in work details, pay raises vs. work provided is not enough, work performance is on a grading scale that is accurate and or also fair to employees, state building is not generally clean and no proper filtration system is in place to provide a clean work atmosphere, micromanaged,

    Advice to Management

Provide more training especially to tenure employees. Practice better communication skills and not just email per team on proper updates or clarification from employment work instructions, more employee involvement and better incentives. If you want the employees to enjoy their job and enjoy coming to work to do their absolute best then take care of them better rather than just hire and fire. Employees work instructions that provides them the way to properly do their job is based on ones interpretation and is not a black or white description. Unorganized and unprofessional staff and upper management needs to practice better communication and employee employer working relationship.

I worked at MAXIMUS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to grow with the company. They believe in promoting from within.
It wasn't horrible working for Maximus, but definitely nothing special. Just your average corporate America job with average benefits.

    Cons

Most jobs at Maximus are contract based. Due to this the annual salary increase is 1%. They compensate this by providing quarterly bonuses. However, if your department does not meet their goals, you will not receive a bonus. Which happened twice in my department.
