I have been working at MAXIMUS full-time

    Pros

None. below industry pay, no continuing education programs, no professional development program.

    Cons

MAXIMUS is the type of place that will try to offer you blue skies and more but in reality they are the most racist, most condescending, and the most dehumanizing place to work. College grads definitely beware before accepting an full time offer.

Here are a couple of reasons:
1.) All Huge Trump Supporters- one of the top executives had a Trump mannequin with the sticker stating "deplorable lives matter"
2.) They recently took away their tuition reimbursement policy of $1,200 to 0 since they believe that having a Project Management Certification benefits all employees (news flash it doesn’t)
3.) There is no mentorship or feedback review process at all- even if you try to ask your supervisor for feedback you will get a typical response of “let’s set up a meeting” followed by nothing
4.) Human Resource department has the highest turnover of employees in all of the departments which speaks truly to how H/R treats their employees.
    5.) High school drama. (Favoritism)
6.) Nothing ever grows here— the people seem to be stuck in their old traditionalist way so when you have an idea it will 100% of the time be dismissed.
7.) Not enough work but they expect you to be glued to the chair for 8 hours (aka be a body in a chair)

    Advice to Management

Be more human oriented toward employees.

I worked at MAXIMUS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Basic knowledge of Medicaid and VA guidelines for Managed care. Skills that can provide further opportunities. It's located in the city. Some coworkers are really sweet.

    Cons

Management can be very unprofessional. Always hiring and firing. Hire people that are ghetto and uneducated with criminal background and allow them to handle HIPAA information. They would hire 15 people and only 3 would make it then 2 will quit 6 months later because of how uncomfortable it is. Managers have sex with employees. Too much favoritism. I felt like I was in high school with Adults.

    Advice to Management

Stop with the favoritism. Acknowledge your employees equally. Need a better hiring process.

I worked at MAXIMUS part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good people to work with. Colleagues worked hard to do good work. Lots of projects so many opportunities.

    Cons

Terrible work life balance. No connection between Senior Management and Project Management. Pure chaos at project sites. More concerned about profit than the quality of the work and staff satisfaction

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at the way you are running all your projects. They are all a mess and your excessive staff turnover at all of them should be your first clue.

    Pros

Pay and facility were unmatched considering the education and availability in Brownsville. Hours worked were also a plus considering the salary and after the lawsuit for unpaid hours.

    Cons

Operations management, always looking out for themselves and their own interests. You are a number for a quota they have to meet.

    Advice to Management

    Get an education.

    Pros

Close to my house. Nothing else to say. Ok to fill in time. Management is not anything to speak of.

    Cons

Pay OK!! Health OK...But getting pto and approved time off is like pulling teeth. Put in 2 weeks before doctors appt only wanting to take off 2 hrs. Never was approved and not approved just nothing was said or done. Now getting a point.

    Advice to Management

    Hire Better People.
