I have been working at MD Anderson Cancer Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the time, MD Anderson prides themselves on integrity, honesty, respect, love, compassion , peace, kindness, righteousness, loyalty, upright merit, grace, mercy, and the will to sincerely take care of all their patients and employees. Most of the time, MD Anderson listens to the needs of their patients and staff. Most of MD Anderson's management staff takes the time to get involved in directing and guiding their employees through the tasks of caring for the institution. Most of MD Anderson's management staff with great effort, participates in practicing the institution's core values in every situation possible.. MD Anderson in most cases, respect their employees federal, state and work place rights. In most cases, MD Anderson takes pride to create a positive and safe working environment for their staff. While we are all humans, it is impossible to create a 100% flawless working environment, however, in most cases, MD Anderson does give great effort in trying to do so...

    Cons

MD Anderson is a very large institution. Sometimes critical issues, problems and or concerns of their employees and patients may take a while to be noticed and or recognized. Also, MD Anderson, like any other large institution, can always improve on various methods in which the staff can keep a healthy form of swift and efficient communication between each other.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to never forget that this institution can not successfully progress without the team work of all their employees. Their is no little "I" or big "U" when it comes to battling cancer. Every member of this institution is valuable. Every employee should serve in their position with high standards in regards to the success of this institution. The weak shall be strengthened and the humble shall be exalted. It is better to put the needs of others before our own needs. This will create a better sense of pride, integrity, peace, joy, and love throughout the entire working community of MD Anderson.

I have been working at MD Anderson Cancer Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

MD Anderson is a place that will allow their employees to advance. The process may be slow, but it worth the wait. They pay top dollar for your services and the benefits are really great.

    Cons

The down side to this is HR take a long time to process your paperwork. They are a great group of people, but the time it take to get things done is needing improvement.

    Advice to Management

Management is well rounded, but again they need to work on the HR process. I actually missed a promotion because of the delay in process from HR.

Find several mentors across the institution when you first start as it will help you better understand the culture.
