I worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center full-time

    Pros

You get to learn a lot, I was able to learn a wide variety of experiment techniques as well as how to manage a lab.

    Cons

The hospital itself is great place to work but I was working for a terrible PI in the MCO department. She was the worst person I have probably met in my life and unbearable to work for. 7 people left the job while I was there.

I worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, very good work environment and ability to help others in difficult moments. Training is good and help you to learn everything you need to do even if you know nothing about it.

    Cons

You have to pay for parking and it's generally expensive based on the building you are working at.
Management is not fair at all and have favorites. They don't follow their core values when it comes to employees.
It doesn't really matter if you have experience or not. They will hire whomever they want even if the new hire or hires have zero knowledge/experience in any given position.
Career opportunities are based on who you know.

    Advice to Management

Management should be much more caring and help valuable employees and take care of them, keep them and not the ones who frequently call in and have low performance, etc.
When there is a will there is a way.
