    Pros

    Retirement plan, health insurance, coworkers

    Cons

Harassment, management, PI was berating, demeaning, bullying. Forced work on nights, weekends, holidays. Employees all constantly screamed at.

    Advice to Management

Fire the horrible PIs you keep employing

I have been working at MD Anderson Cancer Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Learning about organization, fast pace work, working under stress, not micro-managed too much.

    Cons

Not enough base pay for the stress level/work amount given to you. Feels a bit overwhelming at times because of being under staffed with overload of work.

    Advice to Management

Hire more data coordinators, they are important!! Do not take them for granted, they should be earning some type of bonus for the hard work they put in.

    Pros

Free health insurance. The amount of PTO earned per pay period is very good.

    Cons

MD Anderson does not compare well in compensation for administrative positions to other employers in the Medical Center nor in other industries (Oi l& Gas, Technology, Law).

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center (More than 5 years)

    Pros

some flexibility in working hours, excellent pay and benefits, institution tries to promote better health among employees with gym, but you can't just join and work out when it suits your schedule, quality scientists and clinicians

    Cons

like most places, no oversight - upper management allowed to "play games" with staff with no recourse and if you weren't a player, then you stood to suffer some retaliation if you showed signs of resistance (see this at other institutions, too). It seemed to me that some of the institutional policies gave too much authority to upper management

    Advice to Management

Don't give so much authority to upper management
Be more transparent with all staff members

    Cons

low level of management and unfair in promoting the employee.

should have a CEO who works in the hospital for over 10 years !
