I have been working at MD Anderson Cancer Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great benefits and health insurance
    - Sense of inclusiveness
    - Work/life balance
    - Decent pay
    - Mission in ending Cancer
    - Helping patients and giving them hope

    Cons

I wish the process of internal transferring was a lot easier. I feel like I had much better luck when I was first applying to MDA versus applying as a current employee. Also, I have applied to other positions but was never really informed what prevented me from getting the job (i.e. Skills, experience, etc). I am more than willing to push myself but I need to be informed.

I take pride in my work and I do my very best. I just hate seeing some people who aren't putting in 100% just skating on by. It would be great if everyone is held to the same standard.

Sadly with the financial problems we have, I am unable to get a raise. It's a bit disheartening to do my duties plus more and not being fully compensated.

    Advice to Management

Enforce the need that everyone must complete their tasks and duties. This is a team driven mission and every one must pull their weight.

Even with the financial problems and lay offs in the past, it would be wonderful to just take some time out and encourage/commend the employees left. Although it isn't monetary but it is definitely need.
