I worked at MED FUSION full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I've worked here for 5 years and I really held high hopes for our future. Fortunately Quest Diagnostics acquired Med Fusion and it's likely that (as they have in the past) they will drop kick the current weak and incompetent mid management staff and either provide replacements. So while the already nervous staff panics and continues to produce the suboptimal results that got them devoured in this acquisition, hopefully they will begin to accept they only have themselves to blame for their current situation.

    Cons

Very reactive mid management culture that is always chasing problems instead of avoiding them. So many decisions are made out of emotion rather than data, facts, and logic. More than any company I've ever seen, there are so many people who think they are in charge of everything but aren't actually. Lots of poor communication and easily hurt feelings turn into meetings and generic talk. So many of the poor performers are acting out of a panic to try and make themselves look so much more valuable than they are it made it too much to handle. So, I left and went to work for Quest now instead of waiting.

    Advice to Management

Accept your fate. You have been acquired because the company didn't survive. It's sad but there was a chance to thrive and excel but you squandered it by squabbling and not being more efficient. I advise you just accept it so that you can at least learn and not repeat your mistakes. I do wish you all well.

    Pros

Entrepreneurs that started this company were brilliant!

    Cons

C-suite needs to be cleaned out! How bad is the c-suite? They ran the company into the ground, and now it is sold to Quest Diagnostics.

    Advice to Management

    C-suite, leave, retire.

I have been working at MED FUSION full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Descent base pay for those needing experience to gain their certification and corporate accrued PTO. Would only recommend this company to those who need to gain professional experience or are in general need of employment.

    Cons

Management lacks experience in the field and needed skills to properly manage their departments. Jobs and promotions created for individuals without merit or valid experience level. Lost 7 techs in our department within one year with only 2 being replaced; leaving most of the techs overworked and highly underappreciated. No potential for growth and raises were cents on the dollar. The worst part is the company's overall disregard for patient care by ignoring their employees needs and suggestions for department improvements.

    Advice to Management

Listen to and value the employees that you have. They should be your most valued resource.

I have been working at MED FUSION full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Salary is decent. If you work hard there are opportunities for growth.

    Cons

There is a negative work culture that is hanging over the company. Certain departments more than others. Short staffing most departments to turn a profit.

    Pros

The people you work with are wonderful

There is no room for growth within the company and the management seem to be more concerned with their jobs rather than advocate for the employees need in order to make the job more efficient.

    Cons

If you aren't friends with the right people you go nowhere.

    Advice to Management

Don't promote people because you're friends with them.

I worked at MED FUSION full-time

    Pros

24 hour lab with a lot of different shifts and schedules available.

    Cons

Overall was not a good company to work for. It was very apparent that client relations was the only thing important to them. They used a lot of smoke screens like parties and company meetings to distract from the fact that they didn't take care of employees. Turnover was high in my opinion.

    Advice to Management

Middle Management skill level was very poor.
