    Pros

Flexible. Enjoyable work. Nice workplace atmosphere

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Allow part time employees to at least purchase insurance through the group plan. Find a way to keep employees hours more consistent

    Pros

    Benefits, Flex Time, and Bonuses

    Cons

Pay, Not paper Friendly, and Management

    Advice to Management

The benefits, training, flex time, bonuses, and co-workers were great! But, there's always a BUT. I had 3 major issues with this company. 1. The pay rate here for my experience was low balled. I was getting paid under $16/hr for 2 years experience in medical collections when I came to MEDNAX, and I started off even lower pay rate when I initially started and did not realize until recently until I started "researching" Others with less experience are getting paid more. .2. They do not care if you have an excused absence from the doctor, if you call in it is automatically counts against you. Yes, you have a few chances before you get a verbal, written warning but life happens, but in all honesty it gets technical with his policy but I believe if you have an excused absence it should be excused? 3. Account adjustment processing.(Not a paper friendly company).

I have been working at MEDNAX part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, love working with babies

    Cons

No advancement opportunities, hours too low and hourly rate not as much as some fast food places, hard to balance when working 2-4 hours every single day and basically on call

    Advice to Management

Make hourly rate a living wage and even across the board, give ample opportunity to advance within group, give part time employees chance for earning some PTO or buying into insurance

I have been working at MEDNAX part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good experience working with babies and communicating with parents, good if you go to school. Your hours depend on how many babies were born the day before that need a screening. Good job if you want a little extra money.

    Cons

Not AT ALL a reliable income. Your hours depend on how many babies were born the day before which means, for the most part, very low hours(2-5 hours) which equals to very low pay. Occasionally you will have an 8 hour shift, not often. Not many employees so you must be reliable--since there's not many employees those who are too lazy to complete the job description never get fired even after many complaints from their coworkers to coordinators.

    Advice to Management

Adjust the pay then maybe more people will want to apply. And take charge of the lazy employees!

I have been working at MEDNAX part-time

    Pros

-I love the babies and families
    -flexible hours
    -non-stressful environment
-you get to work on your own and at your own pace
-it is simple to get the hang of
    - it is fulfilling working in a hospital and being a part of a families big moment

I love this job but as far as the social aspect goes it really depends on who you work with in your specific hospital and who your coordinator is.

    Cons

-some co-workers just do not want to work. I have had many babies roll over to
my shift because the morning shift was lazy or just left early.
    - there should be more structure when it comes to employees who leave way to
       early over and over again
    - not many co-workers are professional
              - a lot of gossip including talking about how they can't wait to quit (this job is
awesome so if you are not thankful for it then just leave)
              - requesting off all the time
    - not sure what benefits are offered for part time

I worked at MEDNAX full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Doctors, medical insurance, stock options

    Cons

If you want to be micro managed then this place is for you. Horrible new management. This place has become all about the money. The work/life balance is not even a thought in their minds. Over worked and under appreciated. They have one focus: meet months end no matter what. They are understaffed and cannot keep or hire great people. Their processes are very labor intensive still using paper and must be handled multiple times. The software and computer systems are slow and causes the work to slow to a standstill.

If anyone goes on vacation or is out sick then it means working all weekend to meet months end. Life is not allowed to happen, again only meeting months end matters. Avoid at all cost. This place will only attract the bottom of the barrel employees. The doctors are great but their hands have been tied by the corporation. Trust me avoid this place.

    Pros

Company has solid financials and is otherwise stable in most business aspects. Good paid time off and decent benefits

    Cons

Management is not mature, it is who you know instead of what you know. Many incompetent people in positions because of their relationships.

    Advice to Management

Grow up and end the good ole boy network
