I have been working at MEDNAX full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Mednax has a great structure for anyone looking to start a career in healthcare administration/revenue cycle management. There are opportunities for promotion and advancement. There's also potential to receive a quarterly and annual bonus. The benefits and stock options are great also.

    Cons

Disorganization and lack of communication have been a downfall as of late. Deadlines for timely filing are at risk and as a result we've been placed into mandatory overtime. It makes the workday and week longer. The work/life balance has been skewed.
Also unproductive workers have not been dealt with properly.

    Advice to Management

Listen to staff in terms of implementing changes and procedures. Productivity is important but so is accuracy and efficiency.

I worked at MEDNAX part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved the friendly staff members and their willingness to support one another. Being around the newborns and new families brought joy to me everyday. I never once woke up and said UGH i have to go to work today. I looked forward to it each time.

    Cons

The only downside to the position is that you are not guaranteed a set number of hours. Once all of the hearing screens are done for the day, u can go home. This is a fabulous job if it is not your sole income. Enjoy!

    Advice to Management

More set hours in the future.

I worked at MEDNAX full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked with this practice for 4 years, and loved this job. The team I worked with was supportive and regularly recognized hard work and dedication. Good leadership, clear communication of expectations. Employees are supported and given appropriate training.

    Cons

I don't have a negative thing to share with my experience. This company taught me so much.

    Advice to Management

Keep communication lines open and show your staff the same support and encouragement I received.

I have been working at MEDNAX full-time

    Pros

Good healthcare benefits, pay isn't too bad, mostly nice co-workers

    Cons

They are stingy with offering raises, lots of paperwork and sitting at computer time, tend to take the hard working employees for granted

    Advice to Management

Discuss promotion raise with employee, don't just give them the raise you think they should have.

I worked at MEDNAX full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good company to work for in the medical billing industry.

    Cons

When I was there, they were replacing the branch director and there was a lot of transition and uncertainty. And mandatory overtime was required for an extended period of time.

    Advice to Management

Make employee intake process faster, it took almost a month before I even heard back from anyone about an interview.

I have been working at MEDNAX full-time

    Pros

Great teamwork! Feel very supported. They allow a lot of time and resources including financial aid for schooling. Lots of PTO as well.

    Cons

Sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed with the amount of work I am assigned. Management is very hit or miss. Sometimes management is extremely helpful other times you feel left out in the cold and must rely on your team solely.

    Advice to Management

Have a better plan in place and help out the guys on the lowest levels. Listen or ask the guys on the lowest levels their opinions on large projects or what may be a concern for large projects. More transparency.

I have been working at MEDNAX part-time

    Pros

-I love the babies and families
    -flexible hours
    -non-stressful environment
-you get to work on your own and at your own pace
-it is simple to get the hang of
    - it is fulfilling working in a hospital and being a part of a families big moment

I love this job but as far as the social aspect goes it really depends on who you work with in your specific hospital and who your coordinator is.

    Cons

-some co-workers just do not want to work. I have had many babies roll over to
my shift because the morning shift was lazy or just left early.
    - there should be more structure when it comes to employees who leave way to
       early over and over again
    - not many co-workers are professional
              - a lot of gossip including talking about how they can't wait to quit (this job is
awesome so if you are not thankful for it then just leave)
              - requesting off all the time
    - not sure what benefits are offered for part time
