I have been working at MEDNAX full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    No pros to speak of

    Cons

If you are not on the clinical side, there isn't much room for growth and even clinical staff is at risk for losing their jobs because of poor contracts. There is no company culture, no mission and corporate values.

    Advice to Management

Sow down on acquisitions and nurture the practices that you have already acquired. Support regional staff by initiating and communicating with them.

I have been working at MEDNAX full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is okay but the maxed out policy leaves much to be desired and the work load is way too imbalanced some work there butts off, others do the bare minimum.

    Cons

Micro managed to death, no room for growth, and little respect for the people who keep the wheel moving. No benefits for healthy living.

    Pros

Good pay. Very nice HR dept.

    Cons

Management and team lead in certain department were verbally abusive, to the point of being considered a hostile workplace. Name calling, and mandatory overtime was common, but only to certain employees. Favouritism runs rampant in this office as well. Be very careful to observe who you work for and follow your instincts when it comes to feeling an unpleasant vibe, if you do, try for a different department. This company does have serious issues with workplace bullying that need to be addressed.

    Advice to Management

You know who the 2 main bullies are in the office, if they continue, eventually the new hostile workplace laws just enacted will be used against the company who failed to protect employees from the bullying.

I worked at MEDNAX (Less than a year)

    Pros

Dress code is laid back.they have birthday cake once a month. They give bonuses every three months if you are eligible.

    Cons

Management don't know what they are doing.Rules change daily, today they can tell you to work a account one way. Two weeks later another way. One month later back to the way you were doing it the first time.

    Advice to Management

Be a good role model to your employees. Be more suppotive. I have never worked for a company that everyone is so Negative!!! They send out emails about burnt popcorn???!! Really!!!??? Who does that? No one intentionally goes around burning popcorn. They have pictures of dirty bathrooms and bring it up in trainning!!!! They have huddle and complain about what we are not doing!!! Nothing positive!!!!

    Pros

    This is a nationwide company

    Cons

Poorly run company. Local managers are not well supported by regional leadership team, nor does the company have the expertise to provide good service in multiple pediatric specialties. They excel at neonatalogy, the others(ED, cardiology, hospitalist, anesthesia) NOT so much.

I have been working at MEDNAX part-time

    Pros

The field of audiology is very interesting. It's a great experience being able to work with newborn babies.

    Cons

The pay is terrible. I live in NYC and my starting salary was $13.65 an hour. I've been working there a year now and I make $13.74 and hour. I have done wonders with my $0.09 raise! My regional supervisor is very strict with working over 30 hours a week, and taking a mandatory lunch break after 6 hours. The company also forces use to show the parents this "educational" 3 minute video before we screen the babies. None of the parents watch it, and half the time they ask me to shut it off.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees what they deserve. There is no way someone can live off what you pay us in NYC. Screeners are on their feet the entire day, and have to deal with newborn babies and irritable parents all day long. Also there is no growth in this company, apart from being promoted to a coordinator.
