I worked at MEDTOX DIAGNOSTICS full-time

    Pros

Many people have stayed their a long time; get paid well and don't want to give up seniority.

    Cons

Company got too big to be able to be nimble and doesn't make new products any longer.

I have been working at MEDTOX DIAGNOSTICS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Unlimited overtime, you can get hired on directly as an entry level position with benefits, which is really nice since most entry level positions are normally contract to hire. The work is production, so it is very easy but you can get bored. Turnover is very high, so if you stick with the company for a few years you can get promoted more quickly than at other companies.

    Cons

Management has a tendency to not listen to employee suggestions, or to explain their reasoning behind their decisions. There is a high level of incompetency of many of the workers, so the job can become very frustrating when people make very simple and avoidable mistakes.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent in your decision making. Improve the training quality and consistency throughout the shifts. SOPs need updating for more clarification.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

    Train management

    Pros

Great co-workers and small feel to the lab for being owned by a huge company.

    Cons

Unprofessional management and supervisors. Play favorites very obviously. Non competitive pay.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites and bending the rules for people you like.

I have been working at MEDTOX DIAGNOSTICS full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work-Life balance is good. Co-workers are great. Product produced is good and high quality.

    Cons

Management is terrible. Do not expect to be rewarded for hard work. "Blame game" played a lot by management.

    Advice to Management

Reward and make efforts to keep good employees instead of the weak ones.

I worked at MEDTOX DIAGNOSTICS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company offers good benefits, competitive pay for sales, good communication between lab and sales. Various divisions of the company have different cultures and some cultures are better than others.

    Cons

Conservative Sales environment, this company does not embrace diversity. Everyone is white younger to middle aged and if you are different, you will feel it when you walk into the room. People have worked there for a long time and have their groups. I found it sterile and unfriendly. It's hard to work your way up out of your position. So much bureaucracy for everything! They are owned by Labcorp now and you will know it right away by how many hoops you have to jump through to make any changes to anything. Do it by the book or else!

    Pros

The company rather my department allows huge flexibility especially having kids and appointments. The location is convienient and directly off the interstate, centrally located in Burlington.

    Cons

The compensation is NOT GREAT, and they always give the excuse this is not RTP. NO BONUSES! The insurance package is getting more expensive and less is being covered, which takes all your little Merit increase each Spring.
