    Pros

Great team atmosphere. Listened to associates for input

    Cons

Communication with parent company needed to be better. Visits from offsite VP's would be insightful to them

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you were. (Fife Team)

I have been working at MEGA Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best reasons to work here would be the discounts on merchandise.

    Cons

Management is not all that great.

    Advice to Management

Need to learn how to treat people. They have a really high turnover rate here.

I have been working at MEGA Brands full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work/life balance is pretty great. There is generally a great opportunity for travel because they're an international company.

    Cons

Huge disconnect between local branches and headquarters, you get the feel of that "stereotypical corporate culture". It doesn't seem like a company you could grow passionate for. Upper-level staff seems to look down on lower-level staff.

    Advice to Management

Have a better communication flow between staff and senior management.

    Pros

GREAT people!! Wow... can't tell you what a group of talented people that are there. Unfortunately, it goes unnoticed. This is truely their only asset...

    Cons

There are not enough people working there - as a manager, I had so many things to do that things were getting done half-a**ed. I hate working and not making something great... just good enough.

I would have loved to do a much better job, but since I was working about 60 hours a week (on a good week), I just couldn't.

When the company was in NJ, there were 300 people, not there are about 50 - and a great work load.

DONT EVER SPEND YOUR OWN MONEY TO PURCHASE THINGS!! Just an FYI from experience, I was asked to purchase things, but because we are so overworked, I didn't submit the expense for as soon as they would have hoped... and because of it, I was out over 1k! Others never spent thier own money - and if you apply to this company, make this your rule too! Put yourself first. always because you will be taken advantage of.

    Advice to Management

HIRE MORE PEOPLE! You can't expect to lay off 300 people and hire 50 to replace them.

I worked at MEGA Brands full-time

    Pros

Great products and excellent support staff. Competitive pay and benefits.
Brand with a great reputation and recognition.

    Cons

Upper management direction tended to be unclear and many times during rough times at the company moral was really low and everyone afraid for their jobs.

    Advice to Management

More clear communication and transparency with the employees especially when a public statement is released. It's a bit unnerving learning more about your company through the press that internally.

I worked at MEGA Brands full-time

    Pros

You work with very creative people and most are up beat. Most of the time it keeps you on your toes and theres always work to keep one busy. The products and licenses are always fun to develop and work with.

    Cons

Long hours. Most weeks you'll work 40-50 hours. It's frowned upon if you actually want to work an 8 hour day, and they make you feel it. Very clique-ish and a few managers support that indirectly. They shifted managers and added some. There are far too many chefs in the kitchen and it wears everyone down with mixed commands. As an employee you WILL do the job of 2-3 people if not more, everyone there does.

    Advice to Management

Support any and all employees and bring back SOME the olders ones that left. They were hard workers despite certain management efforts to set them up for fail.
