    Positive Outlook

I have been working at MEIDENSHA full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Small enough to know everyone and open access to all levels of management. Top management shares information proactively.

    Cons

While competitive with companies of comparable size, compensation/benefits package not competitive with companies who compete for the same talent as MAI. Training opportunities could be more plentiful. The company could gain some employee loyalty if demonstrated trust in its employees.

    Advice to Management

The company could gain some employee loyalty if demonstrated trust in its employees. Training opportunities could be more plentiful. Flexibility is important to many, many people in the workforce now. The company should try to be more flexible about how work is accomplished.

I worked at MEIDENSHA full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Pay and benefits were good for me. The upper management is moving in the right direction and there are big opportunities for future business.

    Cons

Often times increasingly difficult to get things done and lack of flexibility due to either the Japanese side of the business or older members of the organization.

    Advice to Management

Staff up with youthful employees and continue to evolve culturally into a global company.

I have been working at MEIDENSHA full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Stable. You earn your keep as long as you stay in the good books of management.

    Cons

No progression. Japanese management does not care about its employees' welfare nor suggestions. HR is overpopulated with people with overly-specific job scopes.

    Advice to Management

    Start listening.

I worked at MEIDENSHA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Good coworkers - bonus ok -8~5.30

    Cons

    - Transport catered only for office personnel which comes at 8. Office personnel starts at 8.10 while non office personnel have to scan attendance BEFORE 8 am ie 7.59 -Manager is biased. Only talk to selective workers. Doesent greet back to low workers. -manager wrecklessly transfer people to different dept doing DIFFERENT job scopes out of no legitimate reason. Doesent respect workers. -workload is HUGE and... load keeps coming and coming. -hardwork readily unappreciated by higher ups. Only wants results. -some seniors don’t teach juniors, only think about their rice bowl. -locker area feels like dumpster. 20+ year old lockers all rusty and infested with termites. -office personnel have their own coffee machine while craftsman don’t have. -standard of working is really bad. -NEVER send workers for upgrading courses. If so, only for those working for 8+ years. Only safety course.

    Advice to Management

The company is not only about the office personnel, but the workers too. Just because you’re given more say and responsibility of the budget, doesent mean you spend it all on yourself. Workers need upgrading and a better standard area of working too.
