    Pros

Company is vertically integrated allowing them to control there own success. Learn your job and do it the best you can to prevent getting laid off during the bad times

    Cons

At times they have poor planning. Then again, who in the industry doesn't?

    Advice to Management

Communication to your workforce is key. With the right communication lines, your workforce will see where you are trying to lead and either help you get there, or tell you why that's a bad idea. Either way, you will be successful with good communications.

I have been working at MEMC Electronic Materials full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Challenging environment. From a technical perspective, I have worked on a broad array of projects and learned a lot. Great work, good pay and decent work life balance.

    Cons

Management decisions are slow to reality and cause excessive losses to pile up before they decide that things are going bad and that they need to cut back. Then, by the time they cut back, the business turns around and they need to ramp up again and they are slow to ramp up and lose business because they can't ramp fast enough. Then, it cycles again. Never ending.

    Advice to Management

    Make decisions more quickly.
