I worked at MET Laboratories full-time

    Cons

They don't pay what the workers are really worth.

I worked at MET Laboratories full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Free food when there is a meeting. This is a pro because with the low pay most employees need this.

    - If you are desperate for a job then apply, if you get hired continue to look for another job. This is a pro because it prevents you from having long unemployment gaps in your resume.

-Work/Life balance is as average as working in retail

-Rob (CEO) come to all the locations quarterly... he's as friendly as most company's presidents/ CEOs

    Cons

-Lack of thorough communication and transparency.
    - Low pay. The low pay produces low morale employees and a HIGH turnover rate. *The pay is really a joke.
-NO growth in company to move up.
    - Lack of team work (if you ask for assistant that CAN count against you).
    - LACK OF TRAINING!
    -Hypocritical environment.
    - To many people wearing different hats that make for most of these cons. Company is to cheap to hire more people to help spread the duties.
    - Gossip is also another issue.

I have been working at MET Laboratories full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Co-workers! Easy going, welcoming, productive environment.

Training on new things are thorough and easy to understand.

    Location in nice.

Big B2B (business to business) customers are friendly.

    Cons

None really. Most companies might struggle with providing the exact type of benefits an employee would want but they do have reimbursement. The benefits are fair 👍

    Advice to Management

    Great place to work!

    Pros

Great place to build up connections with people in other big company and personal engineering test skills.

    Cons

    Pros

Health benefits were the only great thing about being with Met.

    Cons

I really thought that this would be a great place to work but being there for a while sure noticed and heard more than I wanted. They tell you to ask questions if you have a question, can't do that. Some people would roll their eyes a lot or get upset or you'd get email after email in response to your question in a hounding way. A question requires one answer, hello. Not very helpful at all. Supervisor and other people would complain about customers, one incident happened on my last day. Calling this customer a four letter "d" word when this person was no more than 20 ft away, very un-professional. Even though I was there a short time I felt that my first 3- month review was unfair, is was like a two week review. Communication is all on-line or IM, very vague and not clear. Training was reading about systems and on screen's and very fast. I have never experienced that kind of training in my life. I thought i would like working there as a long term employee, NO! Grew to hate it, glad I left when I did.. Couldn't get out fast enough.. didn't care anymore. Good luck to the next victim. If you work there, all i can say is watch your back..

    Advice to Management

    Nil

    Pros

I've worked at MET for over 8 years and have found it to be an enjoyable experience. The pay may well be lower than the industry standard, but the benefits more than make up for it. MET is very open to initiative and hard work, so if you want to get ahead, prove it. The opportunities are there.

    Cons

    Lower than average industry pay

I worked at MET Laboratories full-time

    Pros

It's a stable job, company has been around for decades...but so has the office space and all the furniture.
Ability for some travel if you're on the right teams.

    Cons

    * Communication with supervisor was awful.
    * Multi-million dollar company and they weren't willing to give me my desired salary, I mean they haggled and and we came within $1500 and they wouldn't budge. It felt like I was buying a car and they weren't willing to make the investment.
    * You have pay for everything and then ask for reimbursement (office chairs, all travel expenses, etc.).
    * Not family-friendly
    * No work flexibility, they will say its flexible...its absolutely not.
    * They make sure everyone's computer monitors are facing out so that the boss can see what you're doing as they walk by.
    * Baltimore office is located in one of the worst neighborhoods in the city, building is surrounded by barb wired and gate. No safe at all.
