I worked at MF Global full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It was an exciting environment, as everyone was out to conquer the world (or at least our little corner of it).

    Cons

When the going got tough, management decided to play loose with the rules. The result being, of course, that the little guys suffered worst of all.

    Advice to Management

    Don't break the law.

I worked at MF Global (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very small group that offers good working relationship. Good employee benefits. There are many smart and dedicated people to work with.

    Cons

The brokerage business model is kind of risky. Revenue is highly relying on this business without too much other diversification.

    Advice to Management

Change the management and revenue generating resource to offer more diversity. Making comp more competitive. Offer money incentive comp to employees.

I worked at MF Global (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Hope all of them are doing great now after the miserable bankruptcy.

    Cons

Nothing I can think of.. Maybe the only downside was that CEO bankrupted the firm.

    Advice to Management

Since the firm is defunct now, I do not have any specific advice.

    Pros

Generally, talented hard working people. Good pay if you were good at what you did. Virtually unlimited ceiling for professional development.

    Cons

Constantly looking for way to become profitable. Numerous fiefdoms to contend with. Sometimes people didn't have the necessary experience to run their groups.

    Advice to Management

Get stronger management, Shut down or sell overseas operations to conserve cash.
