I have been working at MFS Supply full-time

    Pros

The culture here is very "work hard, play hard". The majority of people here are ambitious and looking to launch careers, but like any company or position, it is what you make of it. Management definitely acknowledges and rewards those who push themselves and put in the extra time.
Co-workers are friendly and supportive, and for a company that's 10 years old, there is still an entrepreneurial spirit.
The company promotes and hires from within, with relocation opportunities available
Lots of opportunities to make suggestions, take the initiatives with projects. You're not limited to your job scope like with some huge corporations.

    Cons

There isn't an office manager who organizes the physical office, orders materials, plans events, which has led to a "not-it" vibe when a new computer for the conference room needs to be ordered, or a customer lunch needs to be planned.

Communication between departments is improving, but there is still work to be done. Sometimes it seems that the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing.

    Advice to Management

Hire an office manager, we need it
Need healthy snack options in the vending machines

As you know, there is an assistant now that can do all the ordering for supplies, meetings and assist with events. We've also set some other healthy food and beverage options in place and added... More

    Pros

It’s a job and nothing more

    Cons

    No room for advancement
    No loyalty to dedicated employees
Treated like a number and nothing more
Office setting is more like a frat house

    Advice to Management

Stop treating people like a number and learn on how to actually run a company rather than push good workers out the door

    Pros

Coworkers are like having a family away from home.

    Cons

Inconsistency and troubleshooting techniques. Company does not employ people with backgrounds for said positions, but hire and rehire friends and chums. Cut throat dynamic

    Advice to Management

Stop changing management hands and help round employees in the current field their involved within.

I worked at MFS Supply full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

No Pros for me to list

    Cons

No Growth. They did me so wrong. Came in as permanent employee and I was told on Friday after my shift they had to part ways with me because I did not make enough cabinets but I was never told how many I am supposed to make in a day. I was never told I had metrics on this until they told me it was my last day. No verbal warning or anything so that I could prove that I could step my game up. I was still in my 90 days and to me this is shady and they never had plans on keeping me. I rather them bring me as a temp because if I would of known this I could of kept my unemployment. They screwed me over big time. Do your research on this company. I will give them NO PROS.

    Advice to Management

Give employees a review after 30 to let them know where they stand so they know what they can do to better themselves.

I worked at MFS Supply full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - If you're looking to continue your college way-of-life, you'll find yourself right at home at MFS. Beers after work, dipping all day at your desk, spit cups galore, checking out chicks on instagram, ball busting and hanging with your bros are all perks of the job.

    - They have a solid foothold in REO supply and are an industry leader in lock-box tech and sales.

    - Nice company events (Picnics, Happy-Hours, Christmas Party)

    Cons

    - Absolutely No Focus or Direction from upper management. Decisions are made on a whim and without careful thought behind implementation.

    - Owners are always trying to do more with less. The norm seems to be finding someone who will do the job they want, that they can tolerate and control, who will sheepishly follow every command for the lowest compensation possible.

    - Very limited potential for upward mobility

    - Absolutely ZERO quality sales training/advice

    Advice to Management

Get back to growing your business. Sales may be up, but if margins are down this doesn't solve a thing. You're always trying to think of ways that you can do more with less. Invest in the company and grow your business with intelligent, strategy minded, individuals.
