I worked at MG Design Assoc (More than a year)

    Pros

Great culture, fun people. Good work life balance.

    Cons

Inconsistent Leadership, under-experienced managers, not a great team at HQ

    Advice to Management

    Stop promoting inexperienced people!

I worked at MG Design Assoc full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great Owner and Boss to work for.
So patient and respectful to their employees.

    Cons

That the Owner took a sabbatical to start their"New Family". And as a designer, will be sadly missed.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are loyal and have longevity when you're patient and understanding instead of being demanding.

    Pros

Fast Pace and Exciting Atmosphere! If you are looking to be around fun artistic people and challenge yourself, then this is the place for you.

    Cons

The hours can get long as we are always available to service our clients and will go to any length to make what some think is impossible... possible!

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow and encourage those within the organization. Building a strong structure will only benefit us all.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at MG Design Assoc full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

8.5 hour work day with 1 hour paid lunch, so technically only 7.5 hours per day.
Get your own ipad and iphone.
    Extensive and detailed training.

    Cons

    Expectations are unclear.
Feedback is not given or isn't helpful.
Projects that are your responsibility that require input from others will never get done because nobody responds to you. Too many remote offices.
Work environment is terrible. Upstairs consists of 2 rows of desks with no wall separation, music blaring in the middle of the room, and the noises from the shop down below.
MG claims you get an hour paid lunch, but everyone sits at their desk and works through their lunch and expects you to do the same.
You are forced to sit through meetings that have nothing to do with your job duties.
Management does not bring up issues/problems and give you a chance to correct them. They'll just fire you.
    Benefits are terrible!

    Advice to Management

Try some constructive feedback and actually giving an employee a chance to make improvements before jumping the gun and firing someone when they've invested everything into it.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at MG Design Assoc full-time

    Pros

Majority of the people are genuine. Easy to get promoted even if you do not have the experience which in the end will result in internal company issues

    Cons

Inexperienced managers and executives . Company not loyal to their employees. Internal issues reflect delivery of projects. Due to inexperienced upper managment issues will not get better.

"There was no employee loyalty, once you were there for 10+ years they found a reason to let you go"

    Pros

It was a fun atmosphere and you liked the product you were selling. Most of the time you felt like you were actually contributing and the co workers were excellent to work with. Never a dull moment.

    Cons

The benefits were terrible. After you were there 10+ years they found a reason to get rid of you, it was a constant revolving door of employees.
