I worked at MGH full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People are bright. Overall, biological science research at MGH is truly breathtaking, fascinating, and world class.

    Cons

MDs at MGH are a mixed bag. While many of the MDs are leaders in basic research, some MDs running a wetlab do not have training and insight in basic research. Such MDs could set back or even ruin the career of a highly skilled scientist. Do a thorough homework before joining a science lab led by an MD.

I have been working at MGH (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of flexibility, so you are able to go to school and work if you would like to.

    Cons

There is a bit of unorganization in terms of schdeduling. Pay rate should be a little higher.

    I worked at MGH full-time

    Pros

MGH is a great environment to work in if you are interested in any kind of healthcare profession. Generally, everyone is friendly and willing to help out. There is also a lot of opportunity to grow here if that is what you are looking for.

    Cons

MGH is a big place and it is easy to feel lost sometimes or overlooked. There is a lot of turnover at jobs so expect to have to interact with a lot of new faces.

    Advice to Management

I think salaries could be made a little more competitive and there should be more school assistant programs. Other than that MGH is great.

    Pros

Great experience right out of college. There was plenty opportunities for me to learn and grow at MGH. The company culture was laid back and easy going.

    Cons

Unfortunately, in this industry, if your clients decide to move on, so do employees. There wasn't opportunity for me to advance my career due to business loss.
