    Pros

Great staff, as far as co-workers. .

    Cons

Management needs to go back to school and take courses in new management styles. Company is doing great but would probably be doing better if new techniques of management are in place. No incentives and inferior personalities cause for lack of motivation for employees.

    Advice to Management

Training should be more proactive intead of "by the way". No room for promotion, even if your manager leaves and you are the next qualified.

    Pros

    Offered good salary and benefits

    Cons

Non flexible work hours and limited availability of files to work

    Advice to Management

When requesting input from employees, Management should try listening to the feedback and suggestions being offered instead of immediately going on the defense.

I worked at MGIC Investment full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Company is full of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working towards a common goal.

    - Office location and comfortable environment, business casual work attire

    - Paid PTO and holidays

    - On-site fitness center and fitness classes

    - Wellness incentives to obtain reduced health insurance premiums, HSA with an annual employer contribution, retirement & pension plans

    Cons

    - Hard working employees doing their very best to deliver on the high expectations of customers and leadership while being forced to navigate technological limitations.

    - Utilize out-of-date systems that do not talk to each other, money is being wasted minute-by-minute simply because one department doesn’t know what the other is doing and data is having to be mined manually instead of instantaneously.

    - Inefficient or poor processes causing power struggles and frustration, fostering conflict and the spread of office politics.

    Advice to Management

    - Grow the team; accept failure; let them learn even it may take more time to complete a task.

    - Utilize the people that want to be there to work and learn.

    - Be an advocate for your team members and serve as their source of empowerment and encouragement. Employees who are more reserved or soft-spoken may spend team meetings analyzing what’s being said—rather than continuously speaking up. That’s not disengagement.

    - Resources available can impact employee performance.

I worked at MGIC Investment full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Made good money as a consultant and was given a good amount of freedom initially. Co-workers were nice to work with for the most part.

    Cons

Home office management respected home office personnel over the more talented and experienced group that they had in the field. Secretive and somewhat back handed management. Due to the company's steady decline the past few years, management seemed concerned with covering their own territories.

    Advice to Management

If the company survives they don't need any advice.
