Pros

Strong focus on diversity, inclusion, and CSR. Great deal of autonomy given to business unit leaders with regard to decision making. Great opportunity for upward mobility due to having 12 properties in Las Vegas and global expansion.

Cons

Some inconsistencies still exist between properties due to past M&As that created the company in it's current form. Management is heavily focused on creating an aligned culture and systems - many great initiatives have taken place during 2016 with more planned for 2017.

Pros

MGMRI has a strong commitment to leadership development of it's employees. It also has a culture of diversity and inclusiveness that applies for the employees as well as the guests. It's a nice place to work. There's tons of opportunity and the work environment is enjoyable. It's nice to be able to be proud of where I work and look forward to coming to the office.

Cons

Sheer size of the organization makes it difficult to get information sometimes. Training documents and processes being available would be helpful.

Good corporate values with ambitions to expand business in domestic and international presence.

Heavy top down culture with limited room to listen and execute changes from bottom up.

- Biggest player in Las Vegas in hospitality industry. - You get to work on the projects that directly affects the guests and revenue.

Cons

- Extremely conservative and political culture - One has to 'know people' to progress in career rather than 'perform' - Physical appearance would always dominate IQ for career growth - Highly regulated and technically obsolete company (due to the gaming industry) - No or little processes/procedures to run this big organization - No 'performance reviews' that means no career progression/promotions/appraisals. - Individuals have tendency to 'across the road' to join other company. So very little talent from out side the Las Vegas/industry comes in, making the culture more obsolete and conservative.

Pros

Great training programs especially for students right after schools. Company is trying very hard to create a good culture for employees to live with.

Cons

Compared to the similar positions in other gaming companies, MGM's compensation is quite low. Company needs better managers. Lack of communication widely exists between the management team and employees.
