MGM is very structured in it's approach to employees

    Pros

The company values are good in theory, but depending on the individual managers and supervisors, the way employees are treated varies greatly. The training is there but, as is the case in many companies, the supervisors/managers can make the RULES more important than the PEOPLE. Some are caring while implementing the rules, some are not. The benefits are great as well as the 'paid time off (PTO) system. You can still have a life while working for this company. Overall it's an excellent company to work for!

    Cons

Advancement is possible but not as outwardly or noticeably encouraged as I feel it should be.

    Overworked and Underpaid

    Pros

Great benefits and PTO. 8 hour days with an hour being a paid lunch. Employee Dining Room where meals are provided.

    Cons

Being over worked and underpaid. Expected to do things beyond job title with no additional compensation. There are definitely favorites within the department and most time concerns are not taken into consideration.

The Best Hotel Place to work for in Las Vegas

Oct 7, 2008 - SPA in Las Vegas, NV

    Pros

The MGM is always looking for the 'wow' factor leading into updated consumer needs for food & attractions. Also, there's growth opportunity with tuition reinbursements for career advancement. The MGM offers great benefits for full time employees and special benefits for part time employees. There is a paid time off known as 'Flex ' which is accumilated time off for vacation, sick pay and a great retirement plan. The MGM hotel also offers a daycare center onsite for employees with the option for children to attend full time kindergarten. Incentive programs for job recognition. Discounts offers to MGM employees to MGM Mirage properties on selected rooms, shows and restaurants when available.

    Cons

The Spa needs new rennovations if it ever wants to be in the competitive spa market as are the spas at Bellagio, Ceasars, Wynn and Venetian.

Excellent company- great benefits, culture is great along with great mentors

    Pros

Open office space allows with easy interaction with top management. Everyone is willing to help you and wants you to succeed. Lot of room for growth; a growing company with need for human capital. Mentors are great and career growth is encouraged. They have a good benefits package and do a lot of good company sponsored community work that they encourage employees to participate in. Free food at the Employment dining rooms.

    Cons

Compensation is not high enough to encourage high performing recent grads.
