The Best Hotel Place to work for in Las Vegas

Oct 7, 2008 - SPA in Las Vegas, NV

    Business Outlook

    Pros

The MGM is always looking for the 'wow' factor leading into updated consumer needs for food & attractions. Also, there's growth opportunity with tuition reinbursements for career advancement. The MGM offers great benefits for full time employees and special benefits for part time employees. There is a paid time off known as 'Flex ' which is accumilated time off for vacation, sick pay and a great retirement plan. The MGM hotel also offers a daycare center onsite for employees with the option for children to attend full time kindergarten. Incentive programs for job recognition. Discounts offers to MGM employees to MGM Mirage properties on selected rooms, shows and restaurants when available.

    Cons

The Spa needs new rennovations if it ever wants to be in the competitive spa market as are the spas at Bellagio, Ceasars, Wynn and Venetian.

    Pros

The most impressive thing at MGM is how people here are very helpful and friendly. In my department my coworkers are very professional, and always offer to show me steps and procedures that they think would be beneficial for me to know. I believe that is why they are considered to have one of the best training program on the Strip.

    Cons

So far I have not seen any significant cons

    Pros

Pay is excellent, benefits are good. Most employees are happy to be there. Different departments give the option to transfer

    Cons

MGM National Harbor has major issues with racism and not following through with policies and procedures. Upper management shows favoritism and doesn't follow their on belief

    DON'T WORK HERE!!

Apr 21, 2021 - Tables Games Dealer in Detroit, MI

    Pros

Money is good. Free lunches and excellent benefits.

    Cons

Management is poor. You have a problem with someone, management don't do a thing about it because they are friends with dealers, supervisors, Pit bosses and Union Reps. You can say they cover for each other. They are bullys and they will definitely have security watch you even if you know you are 110 percent right and have done nothing wrong. One person who done you wrong will definitely have rumors spread about you and have everyone against you. Now you have everyone against you based on what one person said about you. You go to HR and they wont do a thing because there are a majority of people against you. MGM should be ashamed of their actions and I hope one day the CEO will do something about that!!

MGM is one of the Best in Food and Beverage

    Pros

The best reason to work here is because it has a union and you are treated fairly compared to th other companies you can work for doing the same thing. The person handling your money should make a lot of money and MGM resorts international in Detroit Understands that

    Cons

Standard stuff like rumors or lay off if your were not delivering 5 star service if you make it pass your 90 days your in. you can always get hired back or move up in the company. I have seen waitresses become supervisors.

    Big let down

Oct 4, 2020 - Dealer in Springfield, MA

    Pros

Before covid it was ok. Could of been nice.

    Cons

Covid proved that this company only looks out for the folks at the top. While other great casinos looked out for their people while MGM treated employees like expendable commodities. 2 weeks of unemployment and zero communication.
