I have been working at MHN full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Process improvement is encouraged and supported if you can get the IT resources allocated. Depts tend to work together.

    Cons

IT is outsourced. Managers have no visibility or authority in IT workflow and prioritization.

    Advice to Management

Lots of long term employees. Very knowledgeable. Culture is very important to them.

I worked at MHN full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Learning a lot about the industry. Senior leadership at Envolve is strong.

    Cons

Manager within the department needs better leadership skills. Shows favoritism between two employees within the department and her guidance on deliverables are very unclear. Her personality is off and on and you have to be cautious of how and when to approach her. Unfortunately, upper management is not aware of her poor management and social skills.

    Advice to Management

Train your managers to be more socially intelligent

    Pros

Wonderful co-workers, casual dress, great PTO and holidays, competitive salary. They truly hire some wonderful clinicians, and really care about the members.

    Cons

Things are not compartmentalized like they are at other companies. You have to do Case Management while on a phone queue. Basically, you will have four jobs in one. They also expect most to work 10:30-7:00. No telecommuting is allowed for Behavioral Health CM's.

    Advice to Management

Be more forward thinking in your offerings, so that flexibility can increase employee satisfaction. When an employer comes to you with a concern, take it professionally and not personal. The open door policy is sometimes a facade. Invest in your employees like you do the members.

I have been working at MHN full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Varied work schedules, great benefits, friendly environment, quality over quantity. The salary is good and there are merit increases. Regular training is provided and the are focused on developing employees. It feels like a family there.

    Cons

Corporate environment, sometimes short staffed and difficult to get PTO at times. Some management can be out of touch. Once you are locked in a schedule it is highly difficult to ever change.

    Advice to Management

Honor time served and open schedules up to veterans before new hires.
