I worked at MINDBODY full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Benefits are pretty decent, facilities are nice, perks are ok but not as good as they use to be. A decent job if you are right out of college to start your career and if you have the right skills it can lead to management opportunities.

    Cons

Oh where to start! This company changes direction like the wind. Way to many changes and way to often. Constant price changes, software changes, management changes and grew to fast to properly scale. Management doesn't seem to have a real plan when making changes and it has been this way for many years. Where are the real leaders? Way too reactive and not proactive enough. The outcomes are ridiculous as the results lead to upset clients and staff. Turnover is out of control with senior management leaving along with sales reps and lots of people are talking negatively all the time and it is not good. Most sales reps are making much less money than they use to and find it much harder than ever to find quality businesses to sell to as the market is saturated with tons of competition and what is left to pitch are cancelled clients that don't want to come back. The SDR’s are also struggling to support the sales reps and management knows this but nothing is changing. Marketing leads hardly exist these days. The business processes are so overcomplicated it frustrates staff. Salesforce is a complete mess. The amount of clicks it takes and in many cases approvals it takes to close a deal is insane for a software company that is trying to leverage technology to save time and money. Was hoping Vista can improve these processes soon but so far its getting worse. They have made some policy changes in the past with out any notice on more than one occasion and as recently changed commission structure with out notice. Not good! Management always will try to have an answer and Rick is a decent salesman but most people see through his BS and the damage is done. They hired way to many sales people and there is not enough business to go around. It all about metrics today and most of the metrics are BS and reps easily can put up bogus number just to please a RSM. In the end they don’t care and have sad just move on if you are not happy in the past. The company is famous for saying one thing and doing another. They preach core values but hardly follow them. I could go on and on but hopefully you get the idea.

    Advice to Management

If you don't take care of your employees someone else will. Keep it simple you have way over complicated the sales process. You are getting advice from your clients and employees on a regular basis you just have to listen and act on it.

I have been working at MINDBODY full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Casual Dress code, can wear workout clothes. Inbound leads, if you're lucky and get a good territory. Fairly low-key management and low metric expectations. Good work-life balance. $65 wellness credit each month.

    Cons

Low starting salary. Compared to other sales companies in the area, no real office perks. A lot of recent change within the company, management doesn't seem like they know how to handle it. Poor leadership & upper management. Horrible training program as new hire. Management definitely has "favorites."

    Advice to Management

I should have known when I first started that it wouldn't really get any better. The new hire training is completely unorganized and elementary. If you have ANY experience in sales, it'll be painfully boring and repetitive for you. There are so many changes happening in the company, management is unable to give you clear expectations and stay true to those expectations. Not really sure if any of the upper management is qualified to be in their roles because it doesn't seem like they know what they're doing. They want to act like they're a high-level sales company but operate like a brand new start up. I heard it was good for a while for sales reps and they were making good money, but now that ship has sailed. Private equity partner apparently coming in and taking over soon, maybe things will be ran better at that point. Like most quality and established sales organizations, they have a set standard to increase title & salary, not here, if you want a salary increase or a higher title, just wait until your manager or director decides you've been "exceeding goals" for a certain amount of time before they give it to you, completely arbitrary. Also, if you're not a favorite, probably don't expect to get much support or help.

I have been working at MINDBODY full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Having a job! Making some money! Not being jobless! Lots of different kinds of people. Finding work friends is easy.

    Cons

It seems like some people don’t have to show up, while others do. But that might be normal for sales.

I worked at MINDBODY full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great when you first start there. Very simple software solution Friendly people

    Cons

Deceiving Management who don't really care about their employees. No real room for growth. If you close a deal for someone else, they will outright lie to your face and say "you might still have a chance to get it" No real connection between onboarding and sales Upper management will hide things from sales which cause long term confusion Towards the end of my career there, they attempted to impede on my Work/life balance and attempted to make us work later than possible because the office was evidently not making quota for numerous months in a row.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying to your employees and be upfront in the interview about the many issues beforehand. I understand that you're trying to have a ramp up and hire multiple employees. Train the ones that you have first. Be transparent and stop trying to reprimand people because they don't understand the product.

    I worked at MINDBODY full-time

    Pros

nice coworkers, laid back, good benefits

    Cons

    - HR does not take any complaints seriously, management are ex sales people who have no management experience and do not know what it's like to sell this software and are completely disconnected from the reality of what goes on between sales people and prospects , pay is extremely low, little to no growth, favoritism is a huge issue and is the only way to get a promotion, middle school feel environment with managers micromanaging and not doing there own job. Zero relevant training .

    Advice to Management

Listen to your teams, learn how to manage better, stop making empty promises, actually help your team achieve quota rather then telling them what to do and having no idea how to do it yourself.
