I have been working at MMGY Global full-time

    Pros

Really is a team atmosphere, everyone works well together and helps out when needed. Company is growing and expanding, internationally. Opportunity to travel. Company provides snacks/beverages/and lunches on occasions. Company works well with personal schedule (family, school, medical appts., personal matters). Have a very generous PTO. Provide great benefits to FTE.

    Cons

Because of expanding, teams from various locations do not have get to meet each other in person.

    Advice to Management

Try to take team members that don't get to travel, on trips at least once a year.

    Pros

They are thought leaders in the travel industry. Great for your resume.

    Cons

    - They will over hire and lay you off if they lose the client - They will sometimes just lay you off if they restructure - WHEN they lay you off, they will communicate terribly about it.

    Advice to Management

    Start valuing your employees.

I worked at MMGY Global full-time

    Pros

    1. Some (keyword: some) hardworking and talented people. 2. A paycheck, but it is so little compared to other similar roles in the industry it is laughable. 3. Forget business school, you can learn how not to run a business while getting paid to work here. 4. Industry connections to find a better job. Anything else is questionable, given the fake smiling faces at all levels desperate to hold on to employees on this...

    Cons

The entire agency is a con. Save yourself the trouble (and PTSD), but if you're some kind of masochist jump aboard for an endless ride to hades as MMGY Global tries to live up to its "global" name by acquiring ignorant agencies who quickly realize what a terrible decision it was to sell their brand and reputation to this false advertisement. From Kansas City to New York and LA, leaders are stuck in a collegiate mentality...

    Advice to Management

Stop with the tired slogans that aren't even for a d-list sorority like "reset the mindset." We couldn't set it back far enough to forget this catastrophe. You're the problem, but please try writing a few more fake positive reviews here to lure people into the devil's lair.

I worked at MMGY Global full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

I really enjoyed working for MMGY for the first year and a half that I worked there. On the ground level, I worked with some of what I consider the hardest working and smartest people I've worked with in technology. Company events used to be a really fun time, although right before leaving, they had taken on a more formal and less enjoyable atmosphere due to the need to appear more professional and organized for the acquired...

    Cons

Upper management is very concerned with rapid growth and getting the client, but isn't so much concerned with a long-term strategy or getting the job done right once the work comes in. Leadership abandons projects after they are acquired and will only come in to "help" in the case where a mess gets made by an inexperienced account manager or when a discrepancy in the statement of work is found. Egos run amok at MMGY...

    Advice to Management

Get rid of shady management types and consider a long term goal for retaining clients. Quit chasing the shiny objects and focus on improving the quality of work. Focusing only on billable time will lead to bad morale, high turnover, and low quality work.

I worked at MMGY Global full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

My time at MMGY was some of the most valuable experience of my career. I learned SO much and was given so many opportunities. If you are entrepreneurial, driven, open-minded and are committed to continuing to push yourself, you will thrive there. I traveled the world, was able to create new roles for myself (wrote my own job description three different times - where else are you empowered like that?!), made amazing friends,...

    Cons

Agency life is very fast-paced and that certainly holds true at MMGY. If you thrive in that environment, you will never ever be bored. If you aren't able to juggle multiple priorities and clients, you will struggle. There are definitely moments spent working until the middle of the night from a hotel room after a long day with clients. Work/life balance can be a challenge and some managers don't set boundaries for themselves,...

I worked at MMGY Global full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Ability to learn about integrated planning and execution, both what to do and what not to do when it comes to creativity, client service, people management and industry relations. Strong production value when teams apply themselves. Flexible work structure.

    Cons

Management oblivious to people's needs and anything that's happening in the world outside of their offices. Very little interest in doing any interesting work, lots of paper pushers. Leadership can tend to act like they're running a high school cafeteria lunch club, not an agency.

    Advice to Management

Wake up. Read a newspaper. Or a book. Stop being so white-bred. People can't get out of there fast enough and it's really a shame. Though you're certainly living by your motto, which is to inspire people to go places, or more appropriately, other agencies.

I worked at MMGY Global full-time

    Pros

I wish I could say something positive.

    Cons

MMGY exists strictly through M&A's, and I was unfortunate enough to live through part of this ongoing, never-ending process. Many smaller agencies were swept under the wing (ahem, sold, because why not) of the "leading integrated marketing communications company focusing solely on travel, you know like Ketchum or Ogilvy..." and the fallout was incredibly unpleasant. I found myself in uncomfortable situations with...

    Pros

    Here’s your five word minimum

    Cons

Love the recent review trying to counter all the previous ones - written by someone in the KC HQ for sure. The fish rots from the top, as they say - and the company seriously needs to assess its top brass. If turnover is so high in the trenches - perhaps the trenches aren’t the problem? Also - you’re not in Kansas anymore. So stop trying to pay people KC wages in NY or LA. There’s a lot more competition out there...
