    Positive Outlook

I worked at MODE Transportation full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - Outstanding senior management - smart, hard-working, honest, helpful and inspirational - Compensation is in line with the industry - Nice bonus opportunity for eligible employees - Wonderful agent network - Good work environment - Professional atmosphere without being stuffy or stiff

    Cons

    - Opportunity for growth or advancement is just about zero. There really isn't anywhere to go for most employees which is a tough way to stay motivated - A few managers are micro-managers in the worst way: they THINK they aren't! - As the agent network grows, there isn't the headcount increase to match the support they need so most folks are very over-worked

    Advice to Management

    - Continue to work with parent company to allow for the Mode Transportation sector to get what it needs for success, including greater headcount. - Develop a stronger agent support function where someone stays with the new agency until they are operating smoothly. The support team is great but the headcount needs to increase so there is the opportunity to stay with agencies to get them firmly planted to reduce... agent/agency fall-out

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at MODE Transportation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pay is decent, Hours are OK as long as you're OK with working rotating On-Call weeks. You do learn a lot about brokerage, account management and dispatching operations.

    Cons

No respect from management. You try to push profitability forward, and you're constantly ignored. You're shamed for taking time off, or for not being in the office whether you're sick, or near death.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Empower them to make change.
