    Pros

Career Advising program guides you through the various stages of your career.
Lots of Visibility with partners through plenty of different workshops and programs.
A committed company to the development of their employees.

    Cons

Profit margins are tied intently to the Oil and Gas business and so it is a little tight when oil goes down.
Low cost leading on projects sometimes makes for more difficult completion expectations.
Sometimes you have to embrace the suck for longer than intended.

I worked at MRE Consulting (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked as a Summer Intern with MRE and it was a great experience. The people there are always willing to help out a fellow employee. I was thrown into the fire on several occasions, but there was always someone there reaching out to make sure I understood the process of their business. Also, from top to bottom, everyone in the company is easily accessible. I could go into the CEO's office anytime of the day and he would welcome me. Same goes all the way down to the Business Analysts. Everyone seemed to love what they were doing and enjoyed helping other people.

    Cons

It's consulting, so no surprise here, but a lot of traveling can get old quickly.

The culture is great. The people are great. The people make MRE different, I'm glad everyone knows that.

    Pros

This is a strong, growing company, with a good overall culture and work ethic. They take good care of their employees, particularly when it comes to professional development, and it is an excellent place to develop new skills or hone existing ones. This company also is very tight-knit, and it's easy to develop excellent personal and professional relationships with people at all levels in the company.

    Cons

Growing companies often have associated growing pains, and sometimes it's unclear what direction a group or team may be headed. When reorganizing, sometimes it's easy to feel lost.

    Advice to Management

Mostly, keep doing what you're doing. Your continued investment in your employees will pay great dividends down the road, and your openness to discussion and ideas from employees is very much appreciated.

I have been working at MRE Consulting full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Company has a very flat organizational structure. It's a very collaborative atmosphere and there is no "dog eat dog" mentality
    - A true meritocracy. MRE pays based on how hard you work and how much value you bring to the firm.
    - Defined career path. Getting to the next level of promotion is based on published metrics
    - Incredibly smart employees. MRE has some of the smartest people I've ever met
    - Opportunities abound. If you want to go into a different line of business or change your current specialty, MRE will work with you to get it done.
    - Flexible work schedule. If you need to take care of a sick child and work from home, you can do that. The same goes for any kind of family/emergency events. No questions asked.
    - Family environment. Everybody knows who everybody is and they get along.

    Cons

    - Company is very methodical about its growth and not particularly aggressive. Sometimes this is advantageous and sometimes this is a detriment.
    - Some travel may be required of consultants (could be seen as a pro or con)

    Advice to Management

    - Continue to focus on growth with a more aggressive approach

I have been working at MRE Consulting full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Good culture that cares about it's employees. There are happy hours and networking events to help you meet your colleagues
    - Colleagues are very willing to share knowledge and assist
    - Directors are very encouraging of pursuing certifications and professional development
    - Strong Young Professionals Group
    - Excellent health insurance, but dental and vision are mediocre.
     - I heard bonuses are excellent (supposedly in lieu of 401K matching) and come every 6 months, but I haven't been here long enough to receive one
    - If you are bored with a project or want to pursue a different type of work, MRE will work with you to find a new one.

    Cons

    - Hours can be long (however, this is pretty much the nature of consulting, so not unique to MRE)
    - No 401K Matching
    - only 8 or 9 holidays instead of 10 at other companies
    - Required to sign document for additional year of employment if MRE pays for training. - Not very friendly...If this was for a degree such as an MBA, I can understand, but not so much for a training class.

    Advice to Management

The Training Agreement form is petty for a 1 week training class and should be removed for training under a certain dollar amount.
