I worked at MRI Software full-time

    Pros

The people are great, and you have a chance to develop meaningful work relationships with your peers and managers. There are also a lot of opportunities to advance in your career and gain valuable experience. The CEO does a great job of motivating employees and developing a great work culture.

    Cons

Depending on your role, there can be a lot of long days. But it's really how much you want to make of your role and take advantage of the opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Not much to recommend. Management should continue to find ways to get employees engaged in company challenges and provide opportunities for employees to develop and advance.

    Pros

Great vacation time and benefits. The enthusiasm and energy of this company is fantastic, and they are definitely making a comeback after some rough years. The owning company cares about the company and its vision.

    Cons

The only real downside is that the pay is a little bit low for the area, but it is made up for by their respect of work-life balance and benefits.

    Advice to Management

Keep the vision going, and keep up the energy. I love the enthusiasm you have brought to the company.

I have been working at MRI Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits and salary, especially for young professionals. Company holds many events throughout the year for its employees. Focused on growth. Energetic CEO. Clear goals and metrics. All major holidays off. Flexible expense program for business travel; fun opportunities to travel. Relaxed dress code.

    Cons

Be prepared to eat, sleep, and breathe your job - it's a "lifestyle." The training program is lackluster compared with the amount of time you spend building up to being off apprentice time. Key aspects of the job where never breached until six months in. "Fake it until you make it" is routinely said by managers. Managers are fairly new, and many times not accessible during normal business hours. Rarely go to bat for their team, especially when their own head is on the line. Collabotation is enocuraged, but only to the point that it doesnt take away from your own work. Things have been done the same way for years, and will not change becuase the leadership has been there for years and created the policies themselves. Once in the job, you are 100% expected to learn on your own, as refersher courses are not offered without request. Unrealistic expectations on timelines for projects are routinely set well in advance by sales, which then sets a bad tone for the beginning of a project. Project documentation is extremely lacking, which they are working on. Turnover is high throughout the company, but especially in Professional Services and Support, and is very apparent to clients. Time off is encouraged, but impossible to take if you don't want to have to worry about making up the entire time off on weekends or evenings after you get back.

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to your employees' concerns and do something about them. Don't hold meetings just to hold meetings. Don't treat your employees as means to making the company money. Put people in positions they'll succeed in, not just where you want them to be. Realize good people leave becuase you use them until they can't take it anymore.
