    Pros

The teams work really well together, people help each other and the atmosphere is super good.

    Cons

Never had any problems, only the same problems you'll find in any other place. So the pros make up for any problems.

    Advice to Management

Look up for your talents and make sure to keep them, you have a lot of talent but you have to make sure to keep them.

    I worked at MRM//McCann full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Small office and suburban vibe, location is ok if you’re tired of commuting to the city. The commute is decent overall.

    Cons

SVP leadership. Wouldn’t cut it in a metropolitan office. Very poor people mgmt skills. Very reactive in their approach to account mgmt

    Advice to Management

Clean out the remaining Gillespie crew and re-staff senior leadership with more diverse, stronger leadership team.

Great Co-Workers and over all environment.

    Cons

Lack of management and growth. No mentoring or coaching.

    Advice to Management

Kill the clicks/groups it is drowning your agency and is why there is high turnover. If you don’t fit in they push you out.

    I worked at MRM//McCann full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Booze all the time: margarita machines, bailey's and cocoa, beer happy hour, parties etc.

    My favorite co-workers

    Cons

    LAUGHABLE (borderline crying) compensation

They try to buy your love with a swanky office, sexy downtown location, booze and parties, meanwhile you're at the office until 1am or unofficially required to be on-call 24/7

Some of this is just the nature of agency life - clients will be clients, but it doesn't have to be this bad. There is a serious lack of communication in this place between departments - stuff will be pitched to a new client without any of the other teams being briefed...no wonder this place is a sinking ship.

HR is a joke and doesn't take reports seriously (though I hear there have been some major changes since I left).

I tried to get out of my team into another department because of toxic management, had a great shot, hiring manager loved me and told me I was unofficially in, and my toxic manager sabotaged my interview and reputation to keep me on the team.

Unless you like the feeling of an abusive relationship or want to have a heart attack or a brain aneurysm or a stroke, stay far away.

    Advice to Management

Don't hang on to a toxic VP because they claim they are the only reason we still have one of our largest accounts. When their team is hemorrhaging employees for 2 years and you have received DOZENS of complaints to executives and HR...it shows you clearly don't value your employees.

"MRM has potential, but falls short"

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Princeton, NJ

I have been working at MRM//McCann full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-MRM has a knack for hiring smart and talented individuals
-Big named clients that look good on resumes
    -Decent benefits and PTO
-Convenient location if you don’t want to commute to the city
    -Flexibility with work from home

    Cons

-Don’t expect to get a promotion or a raise unless you threaten to quit or actually leave for 6 months
-New York and Princeton offices are told they work as one, but upper management sits in New York and makes decisions without understanding Princeton employee needs
-Company promised growth, but most employees are not replaced after they quit or freelancers are used instead
-Long hours and expectations to work on weekends are present with no incentive
-Culture has gone downhill in the last year

    Advice to Management

-Upper management needs to wake up and see the problems happening right under their noses or they will continue to lose good talent

I have been working at MRM//McCann full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great clients, fun people, global footprint, opportunity to travel, good vacation and PTO policy, flexible WFH environment

    Cons

Lack of caring at executive level and some leadership positions, NY salaries are not competitive, lack of vision at department level, not very transparent, little funding for conferences or external education

    Advice to Management

Care more about people. Require management and leadership to conduct employee reviews, participate in team-building exercises, and demand excellence from leadership. Fund more training and conferences.

I have been working at MRM//McCann full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The few amazing and talented people that happen to work in the SLC office. Other than that there is not much that is positive about the office.

    Cons

    Overworked
    Understaffed
    Underpaid
    Burnt out employees
    Alot of Account Serive personnel
What the Account Service teams says goes
    High stress low reward atmosphere
    Lack of positive office culture
    Zero team dynamic
    No recognition for hardwork
    Toxic working environment
No overtime pay—Expect to work at least 50 hours on a slow week
    No office parties
Information from management withheld from employees
    No raises for current employees
    Turnover rate is very high
Expect to be on call 24/7
All the talented people get burnt out and leave

    Advice to Management

Stop burning out the employees that you have and cotuining not to compensate them for the long hours that they are working.

Most disciplines are payed way below market value and are asked to do way more than should be expected.

    I worked at MRM//McCann full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the people here are very knowledgeable about their disciplines.

    Cons

    - Absolutely no work/life balance, you will end working 12+ hour days and management won't blink an eye as long as the work gets done
    - The only way you'll be promoted or get a comp increase is if you threaten to quit
    - Management doesn't care if you express concerns, they will continue to ask more of you
    - The turnover is unlike anything I've ever experienced. 15+ people on my team quit within the last year
    - There is no regard for employees and no team dynamic. It is all about the client and the client's needs/wants only
    - Extremely stressful environment with high expectations which leads to burn out
    - Overall very toxic work environment in all aspects of business, I wouldn't recommend MRM/McCann to anyone, even my worst enemy
