    I worked at MRM Meteorite full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    The people on the shop floor

    Cons

    Woeful line management that leaves people to their own devices; part 'put up or shut up', part 'survival of the fittest'.

    Poor annual renumeration and promotion prospects

    A misunderstanding of what makes Creative tick and no acceptance of those who don't 'fit' the prescribed model.

    Work produced mostly not as good as it could be as management seem to be afraid of pushing clients to achieve greatness.

    Advice to Management

    Learn to recognise what makes a truly great creative idea and fight for it.

    Stop talking about winning a Cannes Lion unless you fundamentally change your understanding of creatives and the creative process, and adapt your business module to create the environment in which award-winning work is possible

    Support and nurture your staff more - don't keep treating them as a 'human resource'. And pay them the going rate - even a cost of living increase each year would be something.

    Train line managers to be more observant of stress-related issues affecting their team, get them to fight in their corner and don't brand them 'militant' when they represent the concerns of colleagues

    Go after clients that have bravery and vision not just ones that are cash cows. Find a loss leader client who will give you creative freedom - you know a charity or two wouldn't hurt either.

    Allow at least two members of non-management staff to sit in and contribute to board meetings so you not only demonstrate your transparency, but also get the view from the floor - in fact, why not introduce a staff association.

    I worked at MRM Meteorite full-time

    Pros

    Some nice people. Some interesting work.

    Cons

    No rewards for loyalty. No promotions unless you're in the club. No respect for experience and ability. Farcical 'box-ticking' annual review process.

    Advice to Management

    Hire managers who have more than their own ambitions at heart.

    Pros

    A Chairwoman & Chief Creative Officer.

    Cons

    Best people have left the agency - not a friendly place

    Advice to Management

    They never listen anyway.

    I have been working at MRM Meteorite full-time

    Pros

    * Nice offices great location bankside
    * Nice canteen / coffee shop
    * Flexible working hours
    * Occasional perks such as Friday drinks, charity fundraising events etc...

    er

    * Office dogs

    Cons

    * No shared vision - still a company of two halves and pulling in opposite directions
    * Crumbling under pressure from IPG network
    * Pay below market rates - increases are hard to come by
    * Limited career progression opportunities
    * Huge staff turnover over the past 12-18 months
    * Reluctance to push back or question client briefs, resulting in a production line approach - just churn it out.
    * Inexperienced & unorganised PMs resulting in panicked and overrunning work
    * Creative quality has nosedived
    * Very average benefits

    Advice to Management

    * Push back on the client
    * Have more presence in the office and work to inspire the staff - try talking to people rather than patrolling the floors
    * Focus on bringing in a wider and more interesting range of work - there's more to life than loyalty programmes, banners and emails.
    * Try to be a little more human and honest
    * Give new staff a proper induction into approaches and processes

    I have been working at MRM Meteorite full-time

    Pros

    * Some really nice and fun people
    * Working among talented people
    * Nice offices great location bankside
    * An agency going through transition
    * Occasional perks such as Friday drinks, certain events e.g. summer party, Halloween, bake sales etc... This adds a bit of much needed comic relief.

    Cons

    * Sometimes seems like the company doesn't know its own vision
    * Senior management could have more of a face in the agency and be comfortable running regular agency meetings
    * A culture that is more defined. Celebrating the work but also being allowed to celebrate the fluffier aspects to agency life such as fun events etc.. we're not a sweatshop and sometimes it can feel like this owing to client …

    I worked at MRM Meteorite full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great leadership team.
    Decent work life balance - 9am - 6pm (usually getting out around 6pm)
    lots of social events throughout the month

    Cons

    not a creative agency but trying to be
    caught somewhere in between trying to be creative and trying to be data specialists. Currently neither label seems to fit when comparing to similar agencies.

    Pros

    Nice people
    Interesting capabilities all under one roof and great potential as an agency, definitely signs that the new management are going to take MRM places. Watch this space!

    Cons

    Below average pay
    Slow to promote

    Advice to Management

    The company needs to move away from an annual review approach to personal development to a more modern, project based 360 feedback system. And they should be much better about supporting the development of and rewarding the progress of junior staff.

    I worked at MRM Meteorite full-time

    Pros

    Hard working but fun loving people. Good mix of clients and disciplines.
    Lovely sociable cafe serving great coffee and food.

    Cons

    Senior management stretched, lack of direction but that may change significantly in the next 6-12 months.
    Lacking the fun factor and extra curricular it used to have.

    Advice to Management

    Rewards and motivation seem to have gone by the wayside - an agency is just a bunch of people who need to feel they are being valued and rewarded for their efforts.

    I worked at MRM Meteorite full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The culture of MRM Meteorite is great - fantastic charity parties, drinks on a Friday, everyone eats in the (good) canteen for lunch where it's buzzing.

    There are some really innovative projects that come along and it's what gets the creative department really excited.

    Cons

    Like any large agency, you have the churn in - churn out briefs. Banners and templated emails being on that list.

    Promotions can take a long time.

    Advice to Management

    Look after the hard workers, small rewards can go a long way! Be honest about any changes or pressure from the top of the group.

    I have been working at MRM Meteorite full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Leadership that actually listens and cares about the individual. Young dynamic company company with lot of social events.
    Being a large agency, there are opportunities to advance as it seems to be a meritocracy with the correct people being promoted (in my humble view).

    Cons

    The client I worked on was very demanding, so work/life balance was sometimes an issue. Other account groups were more fortunate!

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the communications to the staff to ensure they are clear on the strategic direction of the business.
