    Pros

Mountaineer Casino is a great place to work for college students or if you are just out of college and would like to gain experience in the hospitality field.

    Cons

Mountaineer is running some departments understaffed for business trends. Some positions have gained many extra job duties due to cutbacks in staffing levels.

    Advice to Management

Keeping policies consistent after major management changes should help restore faith of employees. Quick consistent resolution to issues as well.

I worked at MTR Gaming full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The job is great. Love the people. Tips are above average. Lots of regulars. Free meals. Flexible schedule

    Cons

The company changes ownership every year and a half or so. They are very adamant about keeping people away from full time and off of the healthcare benefits. Open 365 days a year.

    Pros

    Pay for the area.
Ease of job duties (table games anyhow).
Job security within table games - you pretty much have to fire yourself!

    Cons

The politics involved in this industry are high -- this casino is certainly no exception .... make sure you drink with the right group of people.
It is a pay cut to move up (at first for sure), consequently much the first level supervision is weak to put it nicely.
