I have been working at MV Transportation full-time

    Pros

I've been treated really well at MV Transportation but I put in a full 8 hours worth of work in an 8 hour day for my pay I'm respected for that

    Cons

    The long days become challenging

I worked at MV Transportation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great salary and training. Great place to get your foot in the door with transportation.

    Cons

Poor general manager at the time and required a lot of over time, weekends, nights, and eventually travel.

    Advice to Management

Increase management staffing Safety/Trainer should be two positions and restructure contracts to pay drivers a more competitive wage to attract a stronger workforce.

I have been working at MV Transportation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Clean work place safety information is good.

    Cons

Health insurance is too high, not affordable at all.

    Advice to Management

Fix the problems with health insurance to non union people.

I worked at MV Transportation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Plenty of opportunities to work overtime
Most clients are friendly and appreciative
A lot of employees have been here for years so stability seems good, a steep contrast to a number of other companies in the Bay Area nowadays

    Cons

They don't pay holiday rate when working on a federal holiday during your first 90 days. I have never heard of that kind of arrangement before working at MV, and I still do not agree with it.

    Advice to Management

I do not think skimping out on holiday pay for employees just because they're new is worth it in the long term

I worked at MV Transportation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They're not strict. The don't have manifest pay.

    Cons

No AC in most vehicles in the summer. To many vehicle lifts don't work so you'll be manually jacking them up. They will definitely try to cheat you out of your sign on and quarterly bonuses.

I have been working at MV Transportation part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Got hired, pay starts at 15 and that because l made lucky and got hire after their pay increase . Was getting almost 90 hours in a bi weekly period which meant 1000+ every check. Easy job sometimes

    Cons

Part time so over time doesnt start till after 43 hours driven in one week. 90 hours bi week dwindle down to 60 was left with an 800 dollar check lucky I save half my last check to be able to pay my rent this month. No work life balances I live in another city s so sometimes I'm sitting in my car waiting on my next shift which can result to a 3 to 4 hour wait. Sometimes I only get 5 hour days and cant look for another job because I'm extra board my schedule unpredictable. I literally only have time to eat sleep and do it over. Dont even think you can get comfortable as a driver because this is how you eat and pay Bill's. Lady fell inside my bus and I mess up not strapping her in correctly (I'm new with that being said) now I'm on leave until investigation has ended and ill know if I'm still working or terminated by next week. Which the depression just kicked in x 12 this morning. Training could had been used more but they love to show you their tired infamous 25 year old video which hold no relationship with today's world. Teach you have to keep a bus straight and boom on the road . New drivers getting lost and making wrong turns driver out on route they're not familiar with just so management can fill up routes. Dispatcher making your schedule low because your check was probably bigger than theirs drive cams point system people cutting you off all day and

    Advice to Management

More pay, more hour, better training no swing shifts no favoritism

I worked at MV Transportation full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I had quite a bit of freedom for creativity at the beginning. We had a small team and a lot of work to do, but it was nice. Also gave me an opportunity to learn Agile methodologies.

    Cons

At the end our team grew significantly. Also before that we were all remote, and after I was one of only a few who were remote. I felt like me and the other remote developers were ignored.
