    Pros

great snacks, after work activities, catered food and chance to dip your hands in many different accounts. also, opportunity (if you even stay long enough) to travel to other offices. you can skate by for long periods of time by doing little to no work if you fly under the radar. Great work / life balance. there are some extremely smart and successful women/men to learn from. MWW genuinely supports great causes. those causes make you proud to work there.

    Cons

utter lack of supervision of managers. non stop sugar coating and being given the run around on any and every topic. there is no actual resolution of any problems and teams are extremely fragmented due to high turn over rates. this is most likely your managers first job and they have no experience in management. felt constantly set up for failure. don't bother expressing that you may not understand a task or need more direction. all of management and VP's passive aggressively use the word "confused." they're "confused" why you're asking for direction or even help. eventually you'll stop asking for help because it just leads to berating to your face and behind your back. VP's Soul Cycle and drink with staff regularly so don't plan on every finding any resolution regarding any challenges that may happen in the actual work place. OH! and if you do stay you'll find you and your coworkers are openly gossiped about on your VP and managers social media sites. VERY unprofessional bosses as you can see. Advice: check out each person on your teams social media sites so that you have an understanding of the outside of work dynamics. It will save you a lot of time and energy trying to figure out who you can go to get help.

    Advice to Management

in fairness, most of these managers are first time managers. MWW provides no management training. doing good work and managing people are two very different capabilities. considering there is no middle management VP's seem very unphased by the lack of direction and seemingly okay with the constant turn over. instead of making the office into a playground put that money, time and energy into management training. employees who are even mildly professional would prefer paid professionalism over margaritas after work. watch over the second floor and how your VP's and "managers" communicate and interact. prepare to be floored by how you hear staff talking, fighting, cursing, berating and treating each other (and you).

    Pros

Political connections and business development networks can be valuable at MWW. Not all PR firms care as much about business development from midlevel employees.

    Cons

If you don't bring in business or fall into the right clique, you're going to be miserable at MWW. SVPs, EVPs and above have mediocre talent and intelligence at best but they seem to demand much more of junior and midlevel staff than they could ever deliver themselves. Corporate group is a nasty group but they bring in a lot of business. Senior members of the corporate group are part time employees and are almost never reachable after hours or on weekends but they expect everyone in the group to be on call 24/7. Expect to be trashed in the market if you leave because there's not a single person that has left that they have anything nice to say about unless the person leaves to work for a potential or has the ability to fight the rumors. The most senior executives are not friendly and seem to take pleasure in treating employees disrespectfully in public almost as if they want to humiliate you.

    Advice to Management

Be nice. Treat people the way that you would want to be treated. If your clients knew how you treated your employees they wouldn't be your clients much longer. There's a reason that alot of senior people have left and it's because they don't have to stay.

I have been working at MWWPR full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've been at MWW for over two years and it has been the perfect firm to start a career in PR. Clients range across all business sectors, allowing junior employees to gain different types of experiences and skills. There are also a great deal of interesting political and public policy clients. If you work hard and are willing to say yes there is a ton of mobility and opportunity to get promoted. Senior management has also vastly improved over the past year in terms of listening to junior employees and valuing our input.

    Cons

Coordination between senior employees when dividing work loads for junior staffers can present challenges.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to junior staff and make us feel valued.

    Pros

Smart people that care about your career and provide opportunities for growth; award winning campaigns you can be proud of; recognition for hard work, flexibility when needed (work from home etc) and some serious perks (closing between Christmas and New Years, early closings the day before holiday, Take Your Dog to Work Day (!!!), monthly happy hour, community service hours each month etc.

    Cons

Being nimble also means there isn't as much process, which in many cases is a great thing and has its benefits. Sometimes though, it can also be a challenge to managers. That said, overall communication to all employees around processes has improved recently.

    Advice to Management

Ensure those in the position to make a hire place a big emphasis on attitude and judgement sometimes even over the technical skills - we can teach those; continue to focus on hiring people that are hungry to grow and work to their full potential; keep the flexibility/perks - they make a difference.

    Pros

Truly amazing, collaborative work environment, team members who are passionate about the work they do and who care about each other. Corp comms leaders make a concerted effort to provide team members with the opportunities they need to realize their career goals.

    Cons

The nimble, agile environment is great but also means there's not a whole lot of structure to how things get done.

    Pros

As an entry-level employee, I feel very fortunate to start my career at a company like MWWPR. Not only does the company have incredibly talented staff with strong work ethic but also the company boasts a great company culture. It’s not every day that you see a CEO of a company with nine offices around the world that takes the time to get to know each and every one of his employees. When he says his door is always open, he truly means it – and takes the needs of his employees very seriously. Working at MWW has opened me up to amazing opportunities – from learning from some of the most talented executives in the industry to being part of some of the most incredible campaigns and initiatives, the opportunities to learn and grow have been endless strategically MWWPR is not just a public relations firm – it’s a community of dedicated and talented individuals who know what it means to be a team, think creatively and give 120% effort in all that they do.

    Cons

With so many offices not only in the United States, but also in the UK, I wish I had more opportunities to travel.

    Pros

Diverse client base with big names, global firm with big office in the UK and other international clients. Opportunities to work on good client projects. Senior team is available and hands on with junior and mid level staff and with clients, so you can learn from them directly, which has been very valuable. Senior staff is open to hearing what you want to work on and tries to create account teams across offices and practices when they can. NY office has friendly people with good camaraderie, good snacks, happy hours, Summer Fridays, good vacation days.

    Cons

Workplace culture has had some rough patches but management seems to be working to improve it. Internal communications also a low point but on the way back up.

    Pros

Location is near other agencies you can interview with during lunch

    Cons

The "leadership" situation is a mess at best - but it is better described as "toxic egos try to run an agency". Non-performers and political hacks with no identifiable skill set dominate. Be prepared to be asked to sacrifice for long-term goals that never materialize. Instead, the 401k disappears and the minimal perks slowly go out the door along with any senior leader worth keeping. In the meantime the remaining practice leaders all trip over each other and claim as their own "award winning work" that others performed before jumping ship.

    Advice to Management

    Doesn't matter - they won't listen anyway.

Great cross practice collaborations, smart cool people, had an LGBT practice BEFORE it was cool. Multiple office locations across the U.S. from coast to coast. C-level suite top notch and visionary

    Cons

hard to take advantage of all the opportunities given the scope of practices and cities but sometimes these are good problems to have.
