    Pros

Great environment; freedom and flexibility. Excellent portfolio of products and support.

    Cons

Tremendous rotation; continuous changes that become disruptive. Blurry responsibilities across different functions that creates redundancy and competing priorities within the organization.

    Advice to Management

A full review of the organizational structure and a realignment of positions and objectives to eliminate overlapping and create better focus.

I have been working at MacDermid full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

diverse opportunities to contribute. Good collaboration and support at working level

    Cons

Undefined career advancement path. Cost of living raises only. Many high potential associates have left for better opportunities. Workloads are heavy

    Advice to Management

If retention is actually important, define career path explicitly and track-reward top performers and define improvement plans for those looking to be top performers. Alignment/overlap/gaps between corporate functions and business units is poor. Many functional areas operate in silos with disparate objectives.

    Pros

MacDermid is a company with a long history in plating business, so it has relatively stable customers and good repurtation

    Cons

Since the long history of MacDermid, it is very old fashion company. It has hard to time to compete with the new high-tech companies

I have been working at MacDermid full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A very competitive and lucrative business at the very leading edge of Semiconductor grade chemicals for major electronics suppliers. You will be challenged with projects that provide you with skills in an operations environment. With less defined roles, you are able to define the skill set you would like to focus and strengthen for your career.
Great mentor ship if you are involved in specific departments.
The business is high risk/reward and there is always potential for major wins and losses.

    Cons

The projects tend to be difficult to close.
The customers limit the amount of positive change in the business.
Difficult to enter the industry due to learning curve.
Compensation will likely be below market value.
    Limited promotions.

    Advice to Management

Create opportunities and road map's for employees.
Connect with the employees at all levels, not just managers.

Operating the business "the way it has always been run" is no longer the strategy for success.
Think about the long game rather than maintaining the business.
