    Pros

Great people and teams, benefits, work life balance.

    Cons

Lack of opportunities to grow. Best opportunities go to family and friends of executives.

    Advice to Management

Develop talent from within, I've seen a lot of talent leave for better opportunities.

I worked at Macerich full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company culture, they take care of their own. Decent room for growth if you show talent and hard work. They have great resources since it's a public company, and the people up top are very smart and approachable.

    Cons

You don't get much training unless you happen to get set up with a good mentor. When/if you get let go there is no loyalty to having worked for the company, they cut the chord very quickly, and harshly.

    Advice to Management

You should make time to invest in your younger employees. In the long run it only makes your own job easier.

I worked at Macerich full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company is very organized and has ample resources to support its managers. There are always new projects and initiatives, which is refreshing vs. a routine job.

    Cons

No cons but be prepared to work weekends and holidays. If you love what you do, especially special events, t won't matter.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Fantastic work environment. Great people. Very flexible with schedules to accommodate commutes, family needs, etc.

    Cons

Just like any company, a poor direct supervisor can outweigh the overall company culture. There is definitely some of that at Macerich.

    Pros

Professional teams and managers, good benefits, 401K match, stock purchase and insurance.

    Cons

Relatives and friends of executives get top positions, it appears there is no room to move up.

    Advice to Management

Develop in house talent so they don't leave.

I have been working at Macerich full-time

    Pros

Great work environment and easy to get along with senior management. Very friendly group of people and all of the resources to get daily tasks completed are available and adequate.

    Cons

There is no path for professional development. If this is not your dream position you will not be working towards such a role here.

    Advice to Management

A leadership forum would go a long way. Far to often company goals and directives overshadow the day to day work because leleadership struggles to execute and results in time and resources consuming busy work rather than driving day to day tasks towards the stated goals.

I worked at Macerich full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good company for the most part. Paid weekly. Good benefits. Match 401K.

    Cons

Management shifts gears swiftly. Whats a priority one quarter may not be the next.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the local managers. They have their boots to the ground.

I have been working at Macerich full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and good people. They have a lot of long-term employees; if you play the politics correct, they'll protect you and do what they can to keep you happy

    Cons

it depends who your manager is on whether or not they respect work/life balance; you are often expected to check/respond to emails even when on vacation. Don't do your job too well or you won't be considered for other opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to the people in the field instead of sweeping roll-outs of new initiatives; think through changes before just "throwing them out there".
