I have been working at Macmillan Education full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

A friendly and highly skilled workforce means that you are constantly learning in a fairly relaxed environment

    Cons

Changes of direction (particularly after merging with Springer) have resulted in a lot of uncertainty regarding projects and future job roles. Can be very frustrating.

    Advice to Management

More communication, more clarity, and more appreciation for the hard work that is often never rewarded due to projects being postponed/cancelled due to digital needs. Invest properly in digital, and this will solve immediate problems.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Macmillan Education full-time

    Pros

I was reporting to the UK/London office. Fantastic colleagues in the sales team (driven, supportive, professional, fun), very good support from other departments (editorial, distribution, marketing)

    Cons

As a field sales rep you can feel a bit disconnected from the rest of the company, and this is especially true for non-UK staff.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget to listen to the needs and opinions of your non-UK employees.

I have been working at Macmillan Education

    Pros

No pros. Maybe good coffee and work timings.

    Cons

Upper management has no brains of there own, HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL. Hurl abuses at each other on the floor, threaten employees if they try and complain. HR is of no use, just a puppet in the hands of the senior management. Senior management comes with no experience,no creativity, only slavish behaviour. A very boring atmosphere. They pass personal comments at each other, talk rubbish. No intellectual stimulation happening....

    Advice to Management

Be a little less stressed out and learn to balance between work and home. Behave yourselves. Get some brains. Use them into work and not politics!

    Approves of CEO

I worked at Macmillan Education full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good salary and generally nice people to work with (especially outside Spain).

    Cons

People are not valued (at least in the Spanish office) for their performance but for the contacts they have inside.

    Advice to Management

To value more internal people instead of looking someone outside the company
