Great employer before the UK took over....

      Pros

      * Traditional book products are second to none. * Really great content in print based products. * A fair exit package.

      Cons

Macmillan Education used to be a great place to work...and then the UK took over a little more than 2 years ago. HR and other services shared between the education group and the trade group. Trade folks are terrific. A reorg and recent turnover on the education side of the business has left the company reeling, with little talent in management or IT. Now, sales management is totally out of touch with what's happening in the field and recent software products are broken and don't scale. Editorial teams are stuck trying to build tech products on a broken, internal platform that doesn't look like it will be replaced or repaired any time soon. Employees are hoping in vain that students don't ever stop buying print products.

      Not the most welcoming place

      Pros

I used to work for an online division of Macmillan Education. The team was quite small (less than 30). The best things I remember were the Sales & Marketing Director (very good manager with good people skills) and the free (though poor-quality) lunch in the canteen. They have interesting platforms to work with if you're interested in digital ESL resources.

      Cons

I used to work for an online division of Macmillan Education. They provided poor training on the platforms they expected me to know and use. People were not particularly friendly nor welcoming, with a few exceptions.
