    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Macmillan Education full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    * Traditional book products are second to none. * Really great content in print based products. * A fair exit package.

    Cons

Macmillan Education used to be a great place to work...and then the UK took over a little more than 2 years ago. HR and other services shared between the education group and the trade group. Advice to Management

    * Pull the journal editor form the CEO role, and find sales leaders who know how to listen. * Adopt an open online platform for building courseware. * Invest in new technologies and form valuable partnerships in that space. * Ditch the executives who have built their careers on traditional print books and look to technology.

I worked at Macmillan Education full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I used to work for an online division of Macmillan Education. The team was quite small (less than 30). The best things I remember were the Sales & Marketing Director (very good manager with good people skills) and the free (though poor-quality) lunch in the canteen. They have interesting platforms to work with if you're interested in digital ESL resources.

    Cons

I used to work for an online division of Macmillan Education. They provided poor training on the platforms they expected me to know and use. People were not particularly friendly nor welcoming, with a few exceptions.

    Advice to Management

Hire line managers with better people skills.
