    I worked at Macy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get paid every week. They have a cafeteria on site (although the food is hot-plate/microwaved).

It's a solid job if you plan on making call center work your career (the managers have been there for YEARS). But I've also heard that other call centers in the area pay a few dollars more. I was told by one of my leads that he stayed for so long because of the flexible attendance policy. So it depends if that is more important than making money. A lot of my colleagues were either still living at home with their parents, or had a spouse with a second income. Under those circumstances, it's doable in Arizona.

When I left the company, I had about 15 points remaining (the average person uses theirs often and have <5). That is pretty much the only way you'll get fired (you point out).

    Cons

Your change cubicles once every other month.
If you are a good worker (good handle time) they'll give you pats on your back, but no real promotions or raises. You'll get maybe $0.03 more on your raise than your other colleagues. I was actually "promoted" several times...but my pay didn't increase because it was considered a lateral move. So I got MORE responsibility for the same pay. Oh, and don't bother going down to HR, they've fired the majority of the staff.

Keep in mind that the company isn't doing well, and there are a lot of offshore agents (mostly in the Philippines). They get paid little of nothing (in comparison) so don't feel too secure with your job. They could easily close your department, and have customer service completely offshore. If you work the Bloomingdale's side, you're safer (Bloomies customers DO NOT like talking to offshore agents).

    I worked at Macy's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexibility to move around departments (except commissioned departments).

    Cons

Inflexible work schedule after giving up your own time to help management out. Be careful; nobody has your back. Terminations are handed out like candy.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your associates like third-world refugees. They need to eat, sleep, and take care of their families with low-wages. Show some respect!

    Pros

Great environment and 3 weeks of training to start out. Good place for someone who loves or has experience with customer service. The benefits are great and they really take care of their employees. Fortune 500 company for 100 years. Can't get better than that.

    Cons

If you don't like customer service or working with and helping people you obviously wont like the job. Other than that It's awesome.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Maybe offer bus passes for those who are in training at least.
