    I worked at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was satisfied with my schedule. I got two weeks of vacation and I was able to get lots of overtime during the holiday season.

    Cons

The Macy's at Pentagon City is run by inept management. This location also condones workplace bullying. If you have a problem, the managers will make it seem like you're the problem and they will do whatever they can to get rid of you.

    Advice to Management

If several employees complain about one specific employees behavior, look into it. All of those people can't be wrong.

    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are hours if you want them.

    Cons

Break time was too short for my level of ability. If I worked longer than a four-hour shift, I could barely walk to the metro to get home. Often times the people who worked before you would not finish their tasks and you were expected to do their work and man the register at the same time. If a customer had to wait, management was on your tail.

    Advice to Management

Either get rid of the people who can't finish their tasks before clocking out, or do it yourself. And don't terminate people for being in the hospital. Corporate doesn't like that. I know, because they told me.

    Pros

Some nice customers make your day a lot better. And fellow employees help you get through your work day. It feels good to make the customers happy, and that cancels out the mean ones.

    Cons

Poor management, not enough staff to keep the departments orderly and the dressing rooms cleaned out. Long hours on your feet sometimes not getting a break. Working weekends constantly and missing free time with your family. It is not worth it. Most employees are looking for the next job.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees, they are real people with families, not robots that can work nonstop.

    I worked at Macy's part-time

    Pros

There's so much to see and learn, I worked at least three shifts in each department.
