I worked at Macy's full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

good benefits, a good place to learn the basics of the industry, very fast paced so you learn how to prioritize work and work quickly.

      Cons

too cliquey, if you don’t make friends right away you will be an outcast. people can be pretentious. building is really old so beware of roaches falling from the ceilings on some of the office floors. they restructure hierarchies a lot so your teams are constantly changing.

      Advice to Management

jeff gennette literally has no idea what’s actually going on with his employees. he claims he cares but disregards the needs of employees even after asking for improvement several times.

I have been working at Macy's full-time for more than a year

      Pros

You learn a lot about Digital Merchandising/E-Commerce

      Cons

You do everyone's work with minimal respect, subpar working conditions (there are no windows) and mediocre pay. It is tedious, mundane, stressful and never ending.

I worked at Macy's full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Corporate Discount. Summer Fridays. Depending on department, great team support.

      Cons

Employees with the job title "Digital Merchandise Assistant" is often not respected for their hard work. The role is limited and highly repetitive and it's difficult to be promoted from this role. The only path to promotion is the EDP program, however recent college grads and interns are more likely to be accepted into the program. Due to the low acceptance rate for this program, there is a "hunger games" like atmosphere...

      Advice to Management

Stop leading the DMAs on there is growth from this role, be honest. Internal systems and processes needs improvement.

I have been working at Macy's full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Everything...work/life balance, being able to work from home, working 9-5, summer fridays leaving at 1, great people to work with all young and fun and chill

      Cons

SALARY! Especially if you graduate with a degree other than merchandising. If you're coming from a merch related degree, it's actually average to above average pay. But with any other degree this is the only con by far

I worked at Macy's full-time for more than a year

      Pros

-around 20 PTO days -20% discount -40% makeup discount twice a year -trying workplace flexibility program

      Cons

-not all managers encourage workplace flexibility/WFH -Being an OMA/DMA is very belittling. When you are hired they say you can move up you just have to go through EDP program. That program is only offered once a year to OMA/DMA but offered almost 20 times a year for college grads. They will not promote within, they would rather higher a college grad which is extremely frustrating. You are hourly employee and have to...
