    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

On your feet, interacting with people, seeing new fashions, selling, having responsibilities, getting free samples, tidying up your department, the coworkers are great!

    Cons

Customer service jobs can be hard, dealing with the general public, don't take it personal, people steal from stores and you have to watch for that.

    Advice to Management

Constructive criticism is always great, don't belittle people though

    I worked at Macy's part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The discount, being able to get grabs on items before customers, fun co-workers

    Cons

The pay , holiday hours, selling credit cards

    Advice to Management

Working for Macys is what YOU make of it , if your attitude sucks , so will your day . The pay sucks, but you get paid every Friday which will make up for it for some . Other than the pay working for Macys was ok. There is room to advance if you stay there long enough. You have the opportunity to make your own schedule online . My managers were cool in all the stores I've worked for . The annoying part about store managers was they continuously badgered employees about prompting the customers to get a Macy's credit card . Lastly , there is the occasional disgruntled customer and the scamming customer , which I found both to be hilarious , but like I said before YOU make your day, so if you're a fun person with superb customer service skills you should be fine .
