    I worked at Macy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Sometimes you get to make people feel really good about themselves. Employees, not management, are pretty great.

    Cons

Crap hours, rude management(not all, but most), no matter how awesome you do, your not doing well enough. Example your counter was the best in the district but you didn’t hit sales goal by $200? Not good enough. Spent hours cleaning your counter but missed one spot? Not good enough. Spent the past hour with a client that resulted in a $200 sale? Well Why wasn’t it a $300 sale? And so on. Management makes you feel lazy, and unappreciated no matter how well you do. No options for advancement. Punished for being sick. I was told by a manager that a doctor note is not an excuse, however I don’t know if that is actual company policy.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your people. When you lose multiple good workers notice that YOU are the problem.

    I worked at Macy's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working at the makeup department is nicer, the schedule is very flexible, and we make more money than other employees. Also, we make a small commission when we sell makeup/cosmetics.

    Cons

With time, they started to hire less and less people to work there, so sometimes we need to work at other departments (like the show department) when we are not "supposed" too.
