    I have been working at Macy's part-time

    Pros

Bellevue Macy's has a great management team. They worked with my schedule and keep me happly.

    Cons

The hours can be hard to come by in during slow seasons. Seniority and hard work will go a long way.

    Advice to Management

Keep on rocking on. Now have to fill the 20 word minimum. Make the MAGIC happen. Go Seahawks!

    I worked at Macy's part-time

    Pros

Flexible schedules as an on call. 20% off discounts, which also encourages you to spend your hard earned paycheck.

    Cons

The management would covertly encourage aggressive behavior if the associates made the sales goals. They turn the blind eye to harassment and abuse from co-workers.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like people; not slaves.

I have been working at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I am on the flexible scheduling option, which is great because I am only scheduled to work around 12-15 hours a week, but I can pick up a shift anywhere in the store during the rest of the week.

    Cons

You have to check every day, all day, for extra shifts to pick up if you want more hours. Sometimes, it is hard to get extra time to work. Also, we can get scheduled for shifts as short as 3 hours- which is really a waste of our time and money to make our way out to the store.

    Advice to Management

I would like to be able to pick up more than one shift in a day, especially for the days I am scheduled only 3 hours. That way I can attach 2 short shifts together and possibly get a 6 hour shift.

    I worked at Macy's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Macy's is the place to work at if you are a college student like me who need money to pay for your own tuition. It depends on the department you work at that offers commission like cosmetics, jewelry, and handbags. That can be very competitive and stressful. Juniors and young men are very fun departments to work at.

    Cons

They need to change the employee discount policy. It's a hassle to get the discount because you have to use their macy's credit/prepaid card in order to get discount. You won't get the discount right away, you have to pay full amount at the check out then it will subtract the discount in the card. It is a very complicated process.

    Advice to Management

Work with your sales associates, not tell them what to do then sit the their office all day.

Meet a lot of people; ability to change departments, practice selling skills, work closely with management

    Cons

Long holiday hours; inflexible schedule; strict on-time policy, hard to get time off when sick, too much emphasis on opening credit cards

    Advice to Management

    More flexibility in scheduling
