    I have been working at Macy's full-time

    Pros

    Great co workers
    Great management
    Laid back environment
    Nicely laid out employee website

    Cons

    Poor pay
Never enough staff on the floor
Disconnect with sales/support and management; them not pitching in and helping, them not understanding that if we are distracted by our other roles that Macy's Cards can't be our only focus.
Constant pull and tug in responsibilities; tending to fitting room, being at register, helping on floor, doing fulliment, Plenti/Macy Cards/Donations/Thanks for Sharing.
    Can't afford Heath insurance

    Advice to Management

Connect and listen to sales/support teams.
Help your staff when it is busy and there are not enough people on the floor.

I have been working at Macy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Discounts on a majority of merchandise is nice but it doesn't begin to make up for the lack of pay versus the expectation held for retail sales at Macy's. Sales associates can be asked to sell hundreds of dollars an hour while only taking home a fraction, with no chance of commission if not in center departments.

    Cons

Shifts are generated at random, via a cloud based program, and can change from first to second shift without any cause of notion of a pattern.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees and perhaps they will value their jobs enough to maximize sales. Then again, customers need to be in the stores for that to happen.

    I worked at Macy's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I love the employee discounts that you get with working for this company. Very competitive as compared to other retail stores. The ability to move up within the company is another great aspect

    Cons

I sometimes felt like I was making less money in comparison to how much I was actually selling. Obviously some days are better than others but on the days when I was selling thousands of dollars, hot having a commission kind of sucked.
