    I worked at Macy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule and employee discount for the store i would say. I cant think of any more besides these from macys

    Cons

Managers are completely baised and treat you upon their personal interest. But some of them are wise too which I respect and managers are busy gossipping about employees with other employees which i think is not professional and instead of helping its workers they are busy shopping while they are on duty.

    Advice to Management

Employees need to be awarded what they have earned. I made my goal over the plan but I was terminated just a week before I could get my bonus for the last month goal which doesnt make sense to me. In my opinion, this place is not fair for any hard working people and gain nothing at the end even after making goals. It is completely like wasting all of my effort I did as a specialist. Macys does not deserve to get hardworking people.

I have been working at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The employee discount is pretty good at 20% off most items

    Cons

Dress code is formal and not the most comfortable, it's super hard to pick up hours (if you have FLEX position), and the employee discount card is stupid because you must have the amount of money that the item is without the discount, and then later your bank statement shows the discount. This is so that they can KEEP MORE OF YOUR MONEY

    Advice to Management

Make job positions more clear and how one is given a job, I NEVER KNEW i was interviewing for the flexible schedule position, WHICH SUCKS because its SO hard to get hours when other permanent employees have dibs

I have been working at Macy's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Meet people from all over the world.
    See the latest fashion.
    30% discount.
Flex associates can choose your own schedule.

    Cons

Working black Friday for long hours.
    Slow advancement.
Employees are not as valued on the job in comparison to other companies

    Advice to Management

I would advise management to find ways to appreciate employees for their hard work, besides offering nachos/hot dogs in the break room. My experience at macys was not good. It my favorite store which is why I applied; but I left due to poor
Management among other things. I still love to shop at other Macy’s location but I still respect for the one I worked at.

    I worked at Macy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Weekly pay. That is the only pro.

    Cons

Everything from unhelpful managment to rude lazy HR (AST). Employee discount is a joke. Their scheduling system is useless. They hire the laziest people that just makes you work harder. 8.72 an hour. The whole experience was not beneficial and I will never work for Macy's again. They can get a bunch of 16 year olds to do the job if this is the way they treat their employees.

    Advice to Management

Tell people that they don't work there anymore! What a waste of a month and a half. Maybe introduce yourself to new employees so they know who their boss is. Make Human resources just that, a resource for humans. They just hide behind their cubical walls and when you do get their attention they are rude and as unhelpful as possibly.
